Pakistani actress, Iqra Aziz attended live stand-up training at the Dubai Expo 2020 by L’Oreal Paris in collaboration with Hollaback. The actress discussed sexual harassment with American actress Eva Longoria.
This was the first time the actress had made her way to the Dubai Expo 2020 since its launch and represented Pakistan on the international forum. Aziz was dressed for the event in a classic royal blue blazer and paired it with sleek curls. Eva on the other hand also put up a suit with a baby pink shirt.
The Khuda Aur Mohabbat star attended the session led by Eva who explained the 5D methodology to combat sexual harassment in public spaces.
Iqra captioned her thread of photos she uploaded on Instagram,” Had the honor of attending a live Stand-Up training at the Dubai Expo; organized by L’Oréal Paris in collaboration with Hollaback”.
“I got to meet Eva Longoria who led the session and explained the 5D methodology to combat sexual harassment in public spaces,” added Iqra.
A survey was conducted by L’Oréal Paris, in collaboration with researchers from Cornell University and Ipsos, that studied wide-scale harassment via online interviews with 15,000 participants. As per the survey, 80% of women have experienced sexual harassment in public spaces and 76 % of women have experienced sexual harassment in public places worldwide.
What does 5D Methodology Stand for?
L’Oréal Paris’s live Stand Up training program has been launched in partnership with the NGO Hollaback. It aims to train 1 million people who are bystanders to intervene and help curb street harassment.
The 5D stands for:
- Direct
- Distract
- Delegate
- Document
- Delay
The program reiterates Loreal’s commitment to “ending street sexual harassment and transforming the culture that perpetuates the behavior and discrimination,” – the goal is to discourage and curb harassment and promote safe ‘bystander intervention.
