Jaan-e-Jahan: Hamza Ali Abbasi Looking Forward to Return on TV Screens

Pakistani actor Hamza Ali Abbasi is gearing up to make his return to our TV Screens with ‘Jaan-e-Jahan’ opposite Ayeza Khan.

The upcoming show has been penned by ‘Khudgharz’ famed writer, Rida Bilal, and helmed by ‘Meri Shehzadi’ director Qasim Ali Mureed.

While we still aren’t over Hamza Ali Abbasi’s performance in The Legend of Maula Jatt, we are looking forward to him mesmerising us on the smaller screen with Jaan-e-Jahan.

Abbasi shared this news earlier on his social media with the caption:

“Happy to introduce you to the captivating world of our upcoming project Jaan-e-Jahan written by Rida Bilal, directed by Qasim Ali Mureed,” an Instagram post read. “Produced by Samina Humayun Saeed and Sana Shahnawaz coming soon on a TV screen near you!”

While the Jaan-e-Jahan teaser has not revealed much about what we can expect from the show, we are confident in it because of Abbasi’s captivating introductory message.

Moreover, Maliha Rehman had a chance to ask Abbasi if he is looking forward to returning on screens, to which he replied he is with Jaan-e-Jahan.

If you are a fan of Abbasi’s Alif, you will feel similar vibes, however, for now, further details about Jaan-e-Jahan have been kept under wraps. Nonetheless, Mann Mayal has had a great year with his film breaking all box-office records in the country.

Early Life and Education

Abbasi completed his early education in Multan and moved to Islamabad for higher education. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in International Relations from Quaid-i-Azam University, Islamabad. Later, he pursued a Master’s degree in the same field from the same university.

Career

Abbasi started his career as a theatre actor, and his first play was Dally in the Dark, which was directed by Shah Shahid. After his successful theatre career, he moved towards the television industry and made his acting debut with the drama serial “Meray Dard Ko Jo Zuban Miley” in 2012. The same year, he appeared in the drama serial “Burka Avenger” and played the character of Vadero Pajero.

In 2013, Abbasi appeared in the drama serial “Pyarey Afzal,” which proved to be a turning point in his career. He played the lead role of Afzal in the drama, which received immense critical acclaim and commercial success. The drama also earned him the Best Actor Award at the Lux Style Awards in 2014.

After his successful stint as an actor, Abbasi turned towards direction and produced and directed his first film, “Maula Jatt 2,” which was released in 2019. The film starred Fawad Khan, Mahira Khan, and Hamza Ali Abbasi himself in the lead roles.

Abbasi has also been a part of several hit dramas such as “Alif Allah Aur Insaan,” “Man Mayal,” and “Waar,” a film in which he played the character of Ehtesham, a Pakistani soldier.

Personal Life

Abbasi is known for his vocal opinions on social and political issues. He has been a part of several debates and discussions on Pakistani television channels and has been quite active on social media. Abbasi married Naimal Khawar Khan, a Pakistani actress and painter, in August 2019, and the couple has a son together.

Bilal Lashari & Ammara Hikmat Want Pakistanis to Stop Sharing Pictures of Cinema Screens Online

Bilal Lashari and Ammara Hikmat’s much-awaited movie ‘The Legend of Maula Jatt’ has received praise and the audience cannot stop raving. With a stellar A-List cast and incredible supporting actors, the movie has captivated hearts.

Social media users are excited as they share their experiences after watching the movie. But at the same time, Lashari and Hikmat reached out to the public requesting them to understand that sharing images and clips from inside the cinema is an actual crime.

Piracy has been a challenge to the entertainment industry for a while now. Due to pirated versions being available online without any costs, the industry faces a loss of millions at a time.

Taking to their own social media, both Bilal Lashari and Ammara Hikmat have requested the public to understand the dire consequences it holds.

“Mayray pyaaray Pakistani bhaiyoon aur bhenoon. Bohat khush hoon keh aap sab ku film itni zyaada pasand arahi hay (My dear brothers and sisters, I am very glad that you are loving the film),” he tweeted.

“Laykin cinema screen ki phone say videos bana kar post mat karain. This is a crime aur jinhoon nay nahee dekhi unki film kharaab mat karain (But please refrain from sharing videos of the film of the cinema screen from your phones. This is a crime and ones who haven’t watched the film, you are ruining their experience).” Lashari added. “Twaadi mehrbaani (thank you).”

 “Please DO NOT post any clips of the movie on social media or YouTube. You are not only ruining the movie experience for others but also hurting the film’s potential business,” Ammara Hikmat shared on Twitter.

The Legend of Maula Jatt: We Watched the Biggest Pakistani Movie of the Year & Here’s What We Think

The most awaited movie review is here! Bad weather, security threats, copyright issues, lawsuits, and finally, Covid – however, one challenge after another, cinema screens were finally graced with the long-awaited movie-  The Legend of Maula Jatt.

The Punjabi action-drama film had everyone on the edge of their seats wondering if the wait was worth it, and now, we finally know.

Here’s our verdict:

The Good

Let’s start off with the best pointers first. Boy oh boy was it a treat to see Fawad Khan, Hamza Ali Abbasi, and the leading lady Mahira Khan along with Humaima Malick on the screens. Hands down both Maula Jatt (Fawad Khan) and Noori Natt (Hamza Ali Abbasi).

We weren’t able to take our eyes off, not even for one second in every action scene, that’s how badly we were hooked.

When Bilal Lashari said he was making the biggest (production-wise) movie, he wasn’t kidding. The big-budget film was justified, the props, sets, costumes, support characters, everything and everyone were truly fantastic.

This remake of the classic 1979 movie Maula Jatt is the story of a young noble boy who is spirited away to a poor village after a rival clan slaughters his parents. Fast-forwarding, the boy grows up to be a fighter who earns his livelihood fighting others through gladiator games.

Eventually, he learns about the rival clan that slays his parents and decides to avenge their deaths against the Natt family.

The Natt clan’s eldest son, Noori (Hamza Ali Abbasi) is a fierce yet barbaric individual who deliberately spends his life in prison because it’s where the fiercest men in the country are kept. No opponent is good enough to match Noori’s potential.

Asides from the two leads, Gohar Rasheed’s acting was phenomenal. From his dialogue delivery to expressions, and overall presence he brought to the screen as Maakha Natt, Noori’s spiteful younger brother,  was compelling.

He is a complete psycho with a smirk that can haunt you for days and gets off by abusing and hurting others.

Humaima Malick aka Daaro is the third villainous sibling and this is one trio no one wants to mess with. After a long time, we finally got to see a powerful and unstoppable (for a while) woman dominate and LOVED IT!

Last but not the least, we all know that Mahira Khan who plays Mukkho Jatti is Fawad’s lady love.

“Mukkho Jatti is all about love. She is Jattni. She is not an intense girl, not fighting over. In fact, she is the love interest, she is the lover, Maula’s sweetheart.” Shared the superstar in an interview with Geo.

Jatti is funny, she lights up the room or in this case the screen every time she walks in, and is a pleasant character that we enjoyed watching.

The Bad

The BAD? The story became predictable not too long in, overall it played out well, you won’t be forced to enjoy it. As usual, the final face-off takes place between Jatt and Natt, again is predictable, but pans out well.

For us, it was like watching a Pakistani version of Game of Thrones with a combination of the Gladiator in an old-fashioned era where warriors defended their honour at the end of the day.

The Ugly

Those who do not understand Punjabi may have a hard time understanding the dialogues without subtitles.

Verdict

The Legend of Maula Jatt is worth your time and money, with a 4/5 star rating from us, we can’t wait to see what Bilal Lashari has up his sleeves next.

The Legend of Maula Jatt Trailer Promises the Audience a Great Cinematic Experience

Fans had been eagerly waiting and counting down the day to the release of one of the most awaited films, as well as the most expensive one – The Legend of Maula Jatt –  a reboot of the 1979 classic Maula Jatt featuring a stellar cast including Mahira Khan, Fawad Khan, and Hamza Ali Abbasi.

Moreover, the film also has Humaima Malik, Gohar Rasheed, and Faris Shafi as well. The main setting of the film is based on a rivalry between Maula Jatt (Fawad Khan) and Noori Natt (Hamza Ali Abbasi).

Bilal Lashari’s Maula Jatt finally has a release date – October 13th 2022. This amazing news was announced a few days ago through a new film poster online. Initially, the film was supposed to roll out in 2020 but was unable to due to some copyright infringement problems.

Lashari’s Waar broke box-office records in the country, which is why fans have high expectations from the film. Furthermore, fans will also get to see Mahira Khan and Fawad Khan on the screens together almost a decade after their hit drama serial Humsafar had aired.

Our Verdict

Well, it was definitely worth the wait! The Legend of Maula Jatt trailer was the perfect mixture of intensity, and suspense, the sets look absolutely amazing, the characters are played with complete justice, and we cannot wait to see more from Bilal Lashari and his team. The trailer promised a cinematic experience and it delivered!

Mandvivalla Entertainment (film’s distribution) told Variety, “It is our immense pleasure to become a part of the most ambitious project from Pakistan, The Legend of Maula Jatt, an Encyclomedia and Lashari Films production. Releasing the spectacular The Legend Of Maula Jatt is not only going to be challenging but is also perceived to create a milestone in the history of Pakistani cinema.”

“It gives me immense pleasure and is an honour to play the role of the legendary Maula Jatt,’ Fawad told the publication. “It was an absolute joy working with the team. I wish us all the very best of luck to all and I hope the audience enjoys it as much as I enjoyed it during the making.”

Quaid-e-Azam Zindabad star Mahira said, “No matter what project I promote I’m asked about The Legend Of Maula Jatt. This was a unique experience for me as an actor, learning to act in a language that I don’t know specifically was a challenge that I enjoyed. I believe that great things happen when hard work and patience are combined.”

“A 10-year journey of creating an impossible film will conclude this October in a cinema near you,” said the film director. Hikmat, the film producer added, “I hope this film proves to be one of those history-defining moments for South Asian cinema that it deserves.”
