Indians on social media have called for a complete boycott of KFC and other MNC brands operating in Pakistan after they have expressed solidarity with Kashmir.
On the 5th of February, Pakistan observes Kashmir Day. Many brands active on social media in Pakistan express solidarity with Kashmiris. A similar post was shared by KFC’s Pakistan handle last year, which has now been picked up by Indian users on social media and is being used to boycott the brand.
The hashtag #BoycottKFC has been trending in India and Pakistan since then.

An Indian user who has responded to the tweet is asking the brand to “say the truth loud and clear that Jammu & Kashmir is an integral part of India and that you respect India’s sovereignty and territorial integrity. Don’t shy away”.

Other MNC companies, including Hyundai, KIA, Dominos, PizzaHut, and other reputed multinationals, have also become targets.
We are in the position to boycott these companies & we have many companies to replace them. So don't worry go for other options. We need to teach lesson to every MNC working in India. #BoycottHyundai #BoycottKiaMotors #BoycottKFC #BoycottDominos#BoycottPizzaHut pic.twitter.com/i2IPCtuP0X

A user expressed his opinion on the ongoing debate on social media. He said Multinational corporations are meant for Business Promotion, Economic growth & not for indulging in the political affairs of a country. @KFC_ES views on our country internal affair are not only derogatory but is a violation of our National laws and integrity”.
He further added, “Govt must ensure that such an entity must not be let free to spoil the internal cohesion of a country.”
