The biggest cultural gathering of the world, Dubai Expo 2020, has kicked off today in UAE. Pakistan-based visual artist, textile designer, researcher and educationist Noor Jehan Bilgrami, who is the principal curator of the Pakistan Pavilion at Dubai Expo 2020, says that the Pakistani pavilion will prove to be a game-changer for the country. Pakistan falls under the opportunity section. Renowned artist Rashid Rana designs the facade of the Pakistani pavilion.
The global trade show aims to enhance the trade and commerce of 190 countries by displaying their human resource, inventions, investment opportunities and culture with the globe. The fiery 90-minute glittering ceremony opened the global trade show with foreign dignitaries, rulers of UAE, and Golden Globe Award and Grammy winners.

The Pakistan Pavilion for the next six months is all set for the global stage to successfully gather tourists and international investment. The theme of the Pakistan pavilion for Dubai Expo 2020 is “The Hidden Treasure.”
What’s interesting is that the Pakistan Pavilion only has one entrance, and then you can exit only once you have taken a complete tour; before that, you can’t turn back. Attendees on social media who are lucky enough to take the pavilion tour on the first day of its opening describe the Pakistan pavilion ‘as a sight for sore eyes.’
What to Expect at the Pakistani Pavilion?
Pakistan Pavilion comprises narrow passages and open spaces and is divided into eight parts.
Noor Jehan Bilgrami told an international publication that she had “created a seamless experience and decided to use multimedia to describe different places and happenings in Pakistan. People will keep walking through the facility without missing the lovely timeline that shows Pakistan’s history until it evolves into a modern-day state”.
An area has been set up that is dedicated to promoting different Pakistani cuisines. As you come to an end, there is a bazaar of traditional crafts which are up for sale, and then there is a dhaba for visitors to fulfil their cravings or try Pakistani food for the first time.
The estimated cost of the Pakistani pavilion is $21.4 million.
