Twitter users have expressed the highest levels of concern over young male TikTok users and the kind of messaging they use towards women.
TikTok has made headlines time and time again, mainly for all the wrong reasons. Either it is news about minors’ rights being violated, news about users getting into accidents during shoots, or one thing or the other.
This time around, the buzz started when Twitter user and activist @UsamaKhilji tweeted stating his concerns in regards to young men hypothesising the death of women not wearing a burqa. He added that such thoughts lead to misogyny and extremism.
Iran and Afghanistan are examples of what can be our future until and unless Pakistan doesn’t start protecting its women.
He tweeted:
Very worrying trend on TikTok of young Pakistani men hypothesising death of women not wearing burqa. These issues arise when the state lets misogyny & extremism take over; with Taliban in power in Afghanistan & IRI in Iran, Pakistani state needs to lead protection of women.

Hence, this proves that such content that goes on the platform can be extremely dangerous and is slowly poisoning the viewers’ minds.
