Jada Pinkett Smith Fan Moment with Abida Parveen Resurfaces on the Internet, Netizens Marvel at the Crossover

Some time ago, Jada Pinkett Smith had a fan moment. The ‘Red Table Talk’ host attended the music maestro Abida Parveen’s concert.

Abida Parveen is a highly esteemed personality in the music industry with fans worldwide. Even Jada is a fan – a photo of her hugging Abida after the concert has resurfaced online. The crossover sent internet users into a frenzy.

Given the present discourse taking place online after the release of the latest Marvel film, “Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness,” an internet user picked the phrase from the movie’s title and captioned the photo of Jada and Abida Parveen on Twitter.

“My multiverse of madness,” wrote the user. The tweet blew up, and internet users marveled at the crossover.

Thousands quoted the tweet on the micro-blogging site Twitter. A user wrote, “LMFAOOOOO is that Jada with Abida Parveen FFS.”

“ayo????,” said another. It is unbelievable for people to see Abida Parveen and Jada in the same frame.

While some were amazed at the cross-over, others began interpreting Abida’s expressions. “Abida can sense her craziness already.”

“Same energy as Pharrell at the Holi party”

Some felt the photos were relevant to them, “I’m Abida parveen. Extremely awkward with hugs or whatever this is”.

Someone compared their sister and them, “me getting clingy with my baby sister, who is not at all physically affectionate.”

 

“This can’t be real.”

“…. this took me out”.

Another relevancy is “Me with my extroverted friends.”

In 2021, Jada Smith posted a picture of her praying how Muslims pray, covering her head with a headscarf and abaya. Many raised suspensions, including other stars from the fraternity that Jada might as well have converted to Islam, and left comments on her images on Instagram.

Coke Studio 14 Stirs Up Exciting Line-up ft. Meesha Shafi, Hasan Raheem, Abida Parveen

Coke Studio 14 is back again with an exciting line-up of artists featuring big names in the Pakistani music scene such as Meesha Shafi, Hasan Raheem, Abida Parveen, and many more. This time around, the show has been shortened to 12 songs only, a much shorter format than previous seasons.

The upcoming season of Coke Studio is arriving at a rather deplorable period in our socio-cultural history. Xulfi is back on his throne for this season, suggesting a bigger marketing campaign ahead.

As reported by The Express Tribune, this season, there aren’t any budget cuts. The 12 songs upcoming this season will all be rich in audio and visual presentation. Additionally, each song will have a separate music video director.

It was rumoured that since all songs are being shot individually, they will not be recorded live. It turns out it isn’t true. As per the publication mentioned above, songs have been videoed live, which are underway in Karachi.

Most Anticipated Episodes:

Most anticipated episodes include Meesha Shafi’s, who is given a spot on the musical show this season too, but with her brother Faris Shafi – who she has never performed with. Young Stunners, who have quickly garnered a reputation for themselves, and of course, Hasan Raheem, and Quratulain Balouch.

Dimple Kapadia is Inspired by the Lyrics of Song “Aaqa’ sung by Abida Parveen on CokeStudio

Dimple Kapadia, the iconic India actress Dimple Kapadia recently starred in the one of the biggest Hollywood blockbusters of the year – the film Tenet, a project of Warner Bros. Directed by Christopher Nolan, the movie starred other talented actors including Kenneth Branagh and Robert Pattinson.

In a recent interview with BBC regarding her experience of working in Hollywood she talks about this role being a dream come true.

I feel like cinderella. I’m so blessed, I’m so grateful

She talks about how nervous she was to audition due to her own insecurities and fear. She mentions that she has always been very critical and pessimistic and  about her work and sometimes even not as confident. The role in an international film made her realise that If Christopher Nolan has chosen her “then you’re fine ”

Despite being a screen legend her humility is endearing. She gives the reference to the lyrics of Abida Parveen’s song  “Aaqa” that she sang on Coke Studio as her saving grace “YA SAB TUMHARA KARAM HAI AAQA KAY BAAT AB TAK BANI HOUI HAI”  saying this song resonates with her feelings, it is the sum total of whoever she is as a person and that she is crazy about this song.

The spiritual connection reflected in Abida’s songs and how everything in life is given by the Higher power, is what Dimple truly believes in.

Kapadia with her brilliant portrayal of roles often relied on her effortless beauty and elegance. She was determined to avoid being stereotyped and initially chose more serious movie genres for her character.  From cliche to commercial cinema she is praised for her performances in some films like Lekin, Rudaali and Drishti.

This melodious song was sung by Abida Parveen, an iconic Pakistani musician on Coke Studio Pakistan alongside Ali Sethi and yet again won thousands of hearts world wide, including Dimple Kapadia’s. See Video of the song below :

Kenneth Branagh said that he was very much aware of Dimple Kapadia’s presence on the film, even though he didn’t get to share screen space with her. He added:

There was a huge amount of excitement when we knew she was flying in and she pronounced herself very nervous. But then we heard about a rehearsal that she had with Christopher Nolan and John David Washington, and they both came away and said;

Well, if that’s nervous, I don’t know what calm is. Because she was perfect and quite awesomely brilliant as far as they were concerned and also completely gracious and delightful with the crew. So she made a tremendous impression.

Even though the iconic Dimple Kapadia hasn’t worked frequently since the mid 1990’s, she has played leading roles in films like, Tum Milo To Sahi, Hum Kaun Hai and What the Fish.  She has played supporting roles in Dabanng, Cocktail, and Dil Chahta Hai in which she was loved for her role as a middle-aged wife separated from her husband and a daughter living away from her. She was also noted for a role in an American Production Leela.
