Pakistani drama serial ‘Bakhtawar’ starring Yumna Zaidi has become the talk of the town. The story is about a woman who has to adopt the life of a man in order to learn a peaceful livelihood.
When the teaser first rolled out with a powerful OST, our jaws were on the floor and goosebumps were all over our bodies. The video of the OST shows the different forms of harassment Yumna Zaidi’s character and other female characters had to face on a regular basis.
What makes it worse is that all of us women have been victims or are witnesses to such forms of harassment. One such clip in the OST shows a bus hostess being mistreated and ending up being shot in the head.
Islamabad-based entrepreneur Nayab Nazir took it to Instagram to share a bone-chilling incident to which she was a witness. She shared that
I was travelling to Lahore, Faisal Movers se travel kar rahi thi aur ek group, logon ke sath travel kar rahi thi, aur wahan par kisi ek bande ne ek bus hostess ko kaha tha ke ‘hume naach ke dekhao’.
I didn’t know the person directly, leken woh humari bus main tha. Bus hostess, willing nahin hote hue bhi, she was going to start dancing, jab humare group ne ye notice kia aur kaha ke ‘she is not going to dance at all’
Iss chez se mujhe realize hua ke humare yahan Pakistan main bus hostesses ke sath bilkul bhi ache tareeke se treat nahin kia jata. Han, there are people that treat them in a good way, but the masses on a regular basis jo travel karte hai woh bus hostess ke sath batameezi karte hai, ya un se dance karwate hai, ya make them do other things that are not good, not respectful.
The whole point of sharing this story here is jo incident ap ne uss drama main dekha hai, that is actually real, and I personally think that agar koi bus, jaise ke Faisal Movers hogayi, Daewoo hogayi, and all of these companies jo ke bus hostess female rakhti hai, unko chaye ke woh ensure karein ke koi bhi bus hostess ke sath batameezi nahin karsakhta, disrespectful hokay baath nahin kar sakhta.
Aap log apni busses main cameras laagwai ya hostess ko allow kare ke woh akay complain kare aur complaint ka agay kch ho, ye nahin ho ke it goes further and further and agay se jawab na mile.
The whole point of sharing this story right here is ke ye Faisal Movers dekhein aur ensure karein ke unki bus hostess ke sath ainda aisi cheezein na ho. And, me posting here is just me trying to bring this story in front of all you guys.
