We usually see posts on social media about how families that go out to eat usually disclude their domestic help, be it a nanny or driver, however, this Islamabad restaurant is breaking stereotypes.
The Malangi Restaurant located in DHA-2 has encouraged families to bring their domestic help to the eatery for free dinner. The eatery will cover the entire cost of the individual (domestic help).
They announced this news on social media, explaining why they decided to do this. In the post caption, they mentioned that a family of 5 were dining there and they had brought their driver along.
They warmly invited him to sit and eat with them and asked him to choose from the menu. This act of kindness from the family inspired the management.

We reached out to the restaurant owner Mr. Juhaifa Khan about sharing his two cents on breaking the stereotyping that we usually see.
My late father, Col. Habib Ullah Khan, always believed in treating the helping staff with respect, but somewhere along the way, it became more about profits; my dear mother always tells me that Allah will bless both you and your business if you help the less fortunate around you, and my restaurant was the best place to start. We are all aware that drivers and babysitters only get leftovers or go without food while the family dines at restaurants. I started this initiative to dispel cultural stereotypes and treat everyone equally because, at the end of the day, we are all mere human beings. – Mr. Juhaifa Khan, Owner of Malangi Restaurant
Kudos to Mr. Khan and the entire staff of the restaurant for this initiative. Small steps like these play a crucial role in the equality and encourage workers to feel welcomed and a part of the family.
We hope that more food outlets adopt a similar culture in the near future.
