Just a couple of days ago Ethnic was in hot waters for ‘copying’ designs from Aliexpress and other brands and platforms. This time around, netizens have called out Nishat Linen for the same.
The buzz started after a customer pointed out that she had visited a mall and saw that the brand had the same printed clothes as her register (notebook) that she had purchased from Urdu Bazar for a mere Rs. 120.
The social media user wrote:
Yesterday I went to Emporium Mall and saw a shirt from the latest collection of Nishat Linen. Its design was 100% copy of my register which I bought 1.5 years ago from Urdu Bazaar worth Rs.120. This is how the designers of Nishat Linen work.
Social Media Reactions
Here’s what netizens had to say:
‘Sooner or later you’ll realise rushing towards branded clothing was a scam. Seek for quality.’ wrote a user.
‘If you are asking designers to make around 2 million designs a month as an industry, this is bound to happen.’ shared another user.
‘Probably the designer did an internship in Urdu Bazar, before joining Nishat..’ mentioned Adeel Bhatti.
Turns out, this illustration was made by Giacomo Bagnara illustrator based in Verona, Italy. He designed this illustration in 2015. Nishat Linen may have used the stock image directly or maybe after they had contacted the owner of the design.
The brand has not yet shared any clarity from its end. Until then, stay tuned to WOW360.
