The FIFA World Cup 2022 is being hosted by Qatar and excitement is at its peak, but if there is someone who has made the celebrations even more amazing, it’s Maymi Asgari, an Irani freestyle footballer.
This awesome young lady has stunned everyone around her with her groovy moves. There was a time when she was bullied for being too skinny, but then she found herself playing a sport where her weight became her advantage.
The 23-year-old is studying sociology at Aalborg University. She uploads her Instagram and Tik Tok with the latest videos to keep her followers entertained and mesmerised.

Maymi is an inspiration to young girls and women all around the world. In an interview with Femina, she shared:
I have two weekly training sessions in Aalborg, and play a match once a week if it fits with my studies. I freestyle two to three hours a day five times a week, but even here there are breaks because my school has first priority.
She continued:
When I sit down and do tricks, it trains the abdominal muscles, when I balance the ball on my knee and go down into a squat, the muscles must be trained, just as a trick where I stand on my hands and juggle the ball on my foot requires training. I’ve been training soccer since I was seven years old, so I’ve built up really good strength. I don’t look big, but I can do 20-30 push-ups and plank for a long time, even though I can get blown away by the wind.
A couple of times a week I train in the gym at 18-20, the train goes home at 21, and is home at 23. I run that program 3-4 times a week, and then Friday is a day when I think “no more”. I’m bad at seeing family and friends because I’m always focused on using time constructively, probably because I grew up in a competitive world where it’s always about developing.
We’d like to congratulate Asgari for showing the world that sports has no gender and that girls can play sports as well as boys. Thank you for being an inspiration.
Stay tuned to WOW360.
