Syeda Dania Shah, widow of Aamir Liaquat has been indicted by the judicial magistrate (East) in a case registered against her for allegedly leaking her husband’s controversial videos.
The videos, in which the late Aamir Liaquat was nude, went viral just weeks before his untimely death. Many individuals, including his avid followers, were almost very sure that his passing was linked to the videos being leaked.
Following the demise, his daughter Dua Aamir (from his first wife) filed a case against Syeda Dania Shah under allegations of links with the controversial videos’ leak.
What Exactly Happened with Dania Shah
Shah was arrested on 15th December 2022 and produced before the court. The agency’s official pleaded before the judicial magistrate for the remand whereas the court also took notice of producing the suspect late in the court and served a show-cause notice on the investigation officer.
“As per the law, it is mandatory to produce the suspect before the court within 24 hours of arrest,” the judge remarked.
Reportedly, the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) officials informed the court that Shah has been accused of leaking indecent videos and that she is currently on judicial remand.
The investigation officer was also questioned for not getting transit remand of the suspect ahead of shifting her to Karachi from Lodhran.
“Record shows that accused was arrested on Dec 15 at 19:10 hours from District Lodhran, however, neither any transitory remand was sought nor 1.0 produce accused within 24 hours as required U/S 167 Cr.P.0 R/W section 61 Cr.P.0 and Article 10(2) of the constitution of Islamic Republic of Pakistan hence let Show cause notice to be issued to 1.0 in such regard,” the court said in its order.
Dania Shah pleaded not guilty to the allegations made against her by Dua Aamir. Later, the court adjourned the hearing and summoned case witnesses on February 2.
The widow, Dania Shah, claims that the entire situation is in fact a conspiracy that has been put in motion against her. She claims that she had been putting pressure on his former wife and kids to get an autopsy conducted, due to his mysterious death, and that is why she is being targeted.
Who is Syeda Dania Shah
Syeda Dania Shah is a Pakistani model and influencer. She is widely known to be the third and widowed wife of famous TV personality and political figure Aamir Liaquat.
Shah tied the knot in February 2022, during an interview in which Liaquat was asked how they had met, he stated:
When we met for the first time, it was only for 28 minutes. It wasn’t a 28-day affair. Nothing of that sort had happened. I visited Lodhran for an event, it was a milad function organised by a affluent family. I also called Jajangir Tareen Sahad from Lodhran, he had invitied me to his farmhouse. After the milad. we went to Lodhran Pir’s house, I didn’t know him, i disussed some personal affairs with him, he told me he will settle me with someone now but the only condition was that I wouldn’t get to see her before. When I met her, it was Dania, but when I did meet her, I came to know that when she was a kid adn would cry, her parents would put on ‘Alim Online’ to calm her.
To this, Shah added:
I didn’t think he was real. To meet someone you have idealized since you were a kid, someone you have been obsessed with and he just appears in front of you; how would you feel? I have also told him that if he wants to marry someone else, he should. I have given him permission to get married for the 4th time. It’s not my right to stop him from tying the knot again. If he is happy with me and I love him enough, he’d stay with me, if I don’t then he will find someone else and marry her.
However, just 3 months later in May 2022, Dania announced her separation from her husband through an Instagram post. She added that she was getting a legal divorce from him and revealed that she had requested a khula from her husband.
