Pakistan is celebrating the achievement of 13 scientists (including 2 women) from Bahawalpur who have ranked in the world’s top 2% of scientists, doctors, engineers, and mathematicians from around the world.
The list was compiled by Stanford University in which the renowned institute names the top 2000 scientists in different domains in the world every year.
Moreover, all 13 scientists are associated with the Islamia University Bahawalpur. The 2 female scientists who have been featured in this list are Prof Dr Rubina Bhatti, Dean Faculty of Social Sciences and Dr Ismat Bibi, Associate Professor, Department of Chemistry.
In recent years, a large number of scientists and researchers from the Islamia University of Bahawalpur have been included in this list, which is a clear manifestation of the Islamia University Bahawalpur’s global standards in research.
The university took to social media to share the news of the student’s hard work and their own accomplishment with followers.

The Islamia University of Bahawalpur
The Islamia University of Bahawalpur (IUB) is a public sector university in Bahawalpur, Pakistan, which was originally established by His Highness Nawab Sir Sadiq Muhammad Khan Abbasi – V as the Jamia Abbasia in 1925. The University has five campuses. Abbasia Campus, Baghdad-ul-Jadeed Campus and Khawaja Fareed Campus are located in Bahawalpur and two sub-campuses are situated in Bahawalnagar and Rahim Yar Khan.
