Yesterday, a clip of Pakistani TikToker Hareem Shah went viral on social media. She can be seen with two stacks of British pounds in her hands claiming that she was able to travel with the amount by air from Pakistan to London, United Kingdom.
In the clip, Shah claimed she easily and safely traveled with the amount; however, Pakistani law doesn’t permit her to do so. She warns others that the authorities catch people, but no one says anything to her.
She further warned her fans, saying that the Pakistani law punishes the poor [looks poor because of their appearance] more frequently, so whoever is thinking of following her footsteps should take precautions.

It looks like Hareem Shah hasn’t learned a thing from Pakistani model Ayyan Ali’s money laundering case where the star was put behind bars. The model was detained at the Islamabad airport in 2015 after she was found carrying $500,000 in cash in her suitcase.

The Federal Board of Revenue’s official website says, “Bringing in of foreign currencies is permitted without any limit. A passenger can bring any amount of any foreign currency to Pakistan. Taking out foreign currencies is permitted up to US $ 10,000 un-conditionally.”
FIA Launches Money Laundering Case
Sindh FIA’s spokesperson said in a statement that inquiry has been initiated against the TikToker. The statement says that “The FIA has decided to write a letter to the UK’s National Crime Agency to take action against Hareem Shah, whose real name is Fiza Husain.” The statement highlighted that “the transfer of currency through illegal means falls in the ambit of money laundering.” Shah’s “visa, immigration and travel documents have been obtained.”
“The FIA has initiated an inquiry and sought details from Pakistan Customs and Airport Security Force as well,” the FIA spokesperson said.
Hareem hasn’t responded on her social media as yet. However, she has exclusively spoken to Samaa TV today. She said, “the money shown in the video came from the sale of her sister’s car in London and that she had recorded the video as a prank.”
