The ‘Zindagi Gulzar Hai’ actors Fawad Khan and Sanam Saeed are returning to your screens in Asim Abbasi’s next web series. Abbasi is well known for working his magic with wonderful projects including ‘Cake’ and ‘Churails’.
Abbasi shared images from the set, reportedly, the shooting took place in Hunza, over a span of 52 days. He took to Instagram to pen down a note thanking the actors for investing their time, emotions, and dedication to the project.
He wrote:
Mystical land. Magical realism. And a big, old family in the middle of it.
There’s Fawad. There’s Sanam. Both giving delicious performances, along with every other cast member (to be revealed in good time). Indebted to these great, great actors for giving their all to this project.
Mad props to my partner in crime, Shailja, for saying yes to my (batshit crazy) ideas. Thank you for my wings!
Long road ahead, but for now, feeling very blessed. I hope everyone who has entertained my work in the past, finds a little home for their soul in this new series.

The shoot wrapped up earlier this year in February, however, the director has not shared many details or the project’s name yet.
However, in another post, Abbasi revealed some other names of those involved in the project, including Anika Zulfikar, Franco Giusti, Muhammad Shah, and Khushhal Khan amongst others.
Furthermore, another thing we know about this upcoming project is that it will be available for streaming on the Indian platform Zee5.
However, according to an Indian publication, the show blends together magical realism and supernatural fantasy within a family reunion setting and deals with themes of love, loss and reconciliation.
In the series, Fawad will be seen playing the role of a single parent – charming but ridden with guilt for what he has lost. With his son, he tries to be every bit the father his own father was and wasn’t. Sanam plays the central female character in the show.
“I think Zindagi is taking bold and brave decisions when it comes to storytelling. It’s naturally evolving into a platform that encourages diversity of opinion and inclusiveness for all filmmakers and material ranging from everyday mainstream to avant-garde and noir. I feel there’s a place for everyone in this artistic landscape.” -Fawad Khan.
Sanam had also expressed her excitement about the series in an earlier statement. “I am thrilled to be collaborating with one of my favourite directors Asim Abbasi again, this time for Zindagi. This new project embarks on a fantastical journey with some stunning performances by a very meticulously picked cast. I can’t wait for everyone to see the magic that’s been created in this beautiful limbo land,” Sanam said.
