‘Pinjra’ is an upcoming drama serial in which Hadiqa Kiani and Omair Rana will work together in the last script written by screenwriter Asma Nabeel.
The renowned writer passed away last year in July 2021, ‘Pinjra’ is the last script she worked on. The story revolves around a family, in which Kiani and Rana play the character of parents of 3 children.
The story narrates the tale of hardships a couple goes through when raising their children. The teaser is now out on social media. Omair Rana took it to Instagram to share a sneak peek of what the audience can expect.
He also penned a small caption reading – “Nothing is greater than the responsibility of raising a child. Here we go. Bismillah. The next one to hit the air soon. . An ode to the late @asmanabeelan with the help of a great ensemble of @hadiqakianiofficial @sunitamarshallofficial @aashirwajahat @zhalay and more of the greats you’ll see as more trailers come. Esp the lovely kids. Led by @najafbilgrami and boy we were well fed by @shaziawajahat and @wajahatraufofficial. ”
In the voiceover, he hear Kiani say that in the eyes of parents, all children are equal, however, it does not always end up being that way, moreover, we can visibly see that all things that glitter is not gold. Not all families are as peaceful and happy as they seem to be.
Wajahat also shared the teaser on her Instagram account and wrote, “Bismillah. In the loving memory of our beautiful friend Asma Nabeel. Pinjra coming soon.. A Showcase Production.”
“Everyone involved, from the cast and the entire team, gave their heart and soul to this serial.. The message in the play is a strong one and we hope that we are able to convey it across in a positive way,” she added, tagging the team.
She concluded: “Hope we make you proud and smile up there Asma as I remember how passionate you were about this and kept writing till the end.. Miss you.”
The show is directed by Najaf Bilgrami and produced by Shazia Wajahat under the banner of Showcase Productions.
