Ali Ansari and Saboor Aly‘s wedding festivities have been in the news for days now. Many photos of the couple donning designer clothes from their big day have made it to social media. But, one particular photo of the couple standing in front of a Lay’s vending machine at their reception dinner stirred up a conversation, especially among industry experts.
Apparently, the couple had a brand placement at their reception dinner. Given that masses were following their wedding, it was a smart move to place the vending machine at the event. However, if you think of it, weddings are grand and often known for the quality of food served to guests, at least in our culture. Placing a vending machine full of Lays chips didn’t quite make sense to a lot of people for that very reason. However, in my opinion, this might work at Mehndi’s where street-style food is served.
Are Brand Placements at Celebrity Weddings Going to be the New Norm?
Why not? It is a smart move. Weddings are big in our culture and celebrity weddings are like national matters. A lot of the general public tends to follow celebrity weddings. Placing brands at the events may do wonders for the brand if placed smartly and subtly.
Last year in December, Katrina Kaif and Vicky Kaushal sold their wedding telecast rights to Amazon for 80 crores. It was a huge, highly anticipated wedding of Bollywood. So Amazon, as a brand would massively benefit from it when the documentary series of their wedding is out, it will likely make great numbers globally.

Practically both the bride and the groom must be comfortable in their skin to be able to enjoy their day thoroughly.
