Bisconni Cakes’ #SochKaFLObadlo campaign took over social media on Universal Human Rights Day and won hearts. Although the ad is simple and doesn’t have much dialogue, the message is loud and clear.
The campaign breaks the stereotypes that surround the transgender community. The ad starts with a trans individual knocking on a window of a car.
The couple in the car are ready to order food when they are approached. When the male is about to give money the to trans individual, she refuses it showing him the menu, and saying that this is her cafe.
He is presently surprised and tells his wife, who is also happy and surprised to learn this. The ad then shows the transgender person cooking while the copy appears on the screen reading that ‘respect is not gender-specific continuing that ‘this Universal Human Rights Day, stand for dignity, freedom, and justice for all.
The transgender community in Pakistan often faces discrimination and is still awaiting to get their basic rights. Data and stats have shown that the number of hate crime and other indicients towards the community has increased. IDespite the relatively progressive laws for transgender people, in reality, they are given little to none protection.
Unfortunately, these beautiful people are victims of mistreatment, harassment, mockery, amongst many other wrongs. This campaign not only addresses the issue but also encourages Pakistani to acknowledge and lend support to the Khawajasira Community.
This is just one of the many short ads Bisconni has rolled out under the campaign. Together, we can change the narrative, and make the world a better place for everyone.
