On this 14th of August, Pakistan will mark its 74 years of Independence. On this day, we celebrate the independence of Pakistan from British Raj in 1947 and the declaration of becoming a sovereign state.
Pakistan is a resilient and united nation keeping in mind the atrocities this nation had to bear over the years due to many conflicts in the region. To keep morale high on the independence day, Pakistanis like to indulge in several activities such as watching the parade early morning on TV, attend independence-themed parties, prepare special breakfasts, watch special tv shows and films, and of course, listen to some patriotic music to keep up the spirit of the day.
Below we have listed our favorites from the past that best suit the occasion:
1- Dil Say Pakistan
Dil say Pakistan is a crowd favorite sung by Haroon, Muniba Mazari, Javed Bashir, and Farhan Bogra. The song was released in 2017, and after 4 years, it is still pretty popular, especially listened to on independence day.
2 – Dil Dil Pakistan
Those days are gone when vital signs dropped massive tunes. The band was known to be a crowd-pleaser. Their song Dil Dil Pakistan released in 1987, is still heard by their true fans. You will often hear this song in public places on occasions such as independence day.
3- Junoon Se
Ali Azmat and Samina Ahmed Junoon Se from the Jinnah – The Movie is a classic tune that will keep up your spirit the entire day. It is such a soothing song that can be heard on repeat the entire day.
4 – Ye Watan Tumhara Hai – Mehdi Hassan
Something we have heard over the years in Mehdi Hassan’s beautiful voice. It is a go-to song to sing and perform in schools, colleges, and national competitions for its beautiful composition and lyrics.
5 – Jazba-e-Junoon
Jazba-e-Junoon came out in 2011, essentially a world cup song. However, it stayed with us for longer than expected. The song is a massive hit among the youth and does a great job of stirring many emotions. So be ready to hear it on the streets tomorrow.
