After Luke Damant, Scottish YouTuber Dale Philip Becomes the Latest Victim of Horse Ride Scam at Karachi Clifton Beach

After Australian YouTuber Luke Damant, Scottish YouTuber Dale Philip has become the latest victim of the horse ride scam.

In a YouTube video, Dale was seen being scammed by a horse rider at Karachi’s Clifton beach. He sat on a horse after the rider told him it would cost Rs. 200 for a ride but later extended the ride even when Dale wanted to get off the horse. Once he was off, the rider demanded Rs. 5000.

Given that there was a language barrier between the two, the horse rider intimidated Dale by shouting at him. This entire scenario was caught on camera, making its way to Dale’s YouTube channel.

Within 3 hours, the Karachi police arrested the three horsemen that were seen in Dale’s YouTube video, which went viral on social media. The reason behind the arrest was due to the misbehavior of these horsemen with a tourist.

“May God free us from the shackles of white people,” tweeted a user on Twitter.  Another user tweeted, “There’s nothing more vile and disgusting than a white tourist visiting a poor inflation-ridden country and power-tripping on seaside vendors.”

Pakistani users on Twitter weren’t happy with Dale’s YouTube video. It seemed as if Dale went to the beach on purpose to shoot the video for his YouTube after Luke had an unfortunate encounter on the Clifton beach.

Content creator Ansar tweeted saying, “hmm I’m sensing a pattern here with dale philip’s videos.”

Another Twitter user tweeted, “If the corruption being done on a bigger scale isn’t being held accountable doesn’t mean the one done at a smaller scale should be neglected.”

The user concluded, “Goray k kehne pr hi krlo, karo to!!”

Another user wrote, “He is celebrating the misery of a poor brown person who tried to ‘scam’ a few hundred rupees off him. The video of the ‘scam’ on YouTube has 450K+ views. Mr. Philip is blind to his privilege and gets a kick out of class warfare”.

Australian YouTuber Luke Damant Lauds Sindh Police For Arresting Harasser at Clifton Beach

Australian YouTuber Luke Damant, who is visiting Pakistan for the second time, has lauded the Sindh Police for arresting a harasser at Clifton beach.

Pakistan has been promoting its Northern areas for international and national travelers. A significant influx of local tourists do make their way to the north. However, some international YouTubers have also made their way to Pakistan in the past year.

Luke Damant, who is on his second trip to Pakistan, had an unfortunate encounter with a local on Clifton beach. Damant, who lived close by, walked to the beach for a horse ride. He came across a teenager offering a ride for Rs. 300. The YouTuber hopped on while recording his sunset on the beach. Little did he know what was coming his way. As soon as the ride was over, the teenager who had asked for Rs. 300 suddenly began harassing Luke for Rs. 3000 in return for an ‘extended ride,’ which lasted a few minutes.

The exchange was ugly, and the language barrier made Luke seemingly uncomfortable. He asked some locals for help, who figured the teenager was overcharging the foreigner after admitting to a much lower price for the ride. Following the horse ride fiasco, Sindh police arrested the teenage boy for harassing the foreigner.

A post on a local group on Facebook read, “Alhamdulillah, Clifton Ke Sahil Per Gair Mulki Sayyah Luke Damant Ke Sath Badmashi Aur Harasa’n Karny Waly Badmash Ko Karachi Police Ki Janib Se Pakrlya Gaya Hai, Mukammal Report Kuch Dair Mai Update Ki Jayegee“.

Luke appreciated the efforts of the Karachi Police in a lengthy post. He wrote, “Thank you to Karachi Police for taking action and dealing with this situation accordingly, and most importantly keeping Pakistan safe.”

He added that the teenage boy made a mistake, as all people do. He hopes he learns to treat others with respect. He also pointed out that he has no idea how the legal process works in Pakistan but encouraged onlookers to treat him with kindness whenever they see him next.

“I do want to say something quickly. This boy is young, just like myself, and we all make mistakes… especially youngsters. I hope he learns from this experience and treats others with the respect they deserve. I don’t know how the legal process works in Pakistan or what is to be done next. But I do ask of everyone that if you see this young boy, please be kind. I know what he did was upsetting and unacceptable, and surely he will learn from this. But being kind to one another is the most important thing, even if we’ve made mistakes in the past. Many thanks to Karachi Police for keeping the community safe.”

Australian YouTuber Luke Damant Appeals to PM Imran Khan to Get “Pakistan’s Kindest Man” a CNIC

Australian YouTuber, Luke Damant, who is currently in Pakistan, has a special appeal to  Prime Minister Imran Khan. In an Instagram post, Luke has addressed PM Imran Khan to assist his friend, “Pakistan’s Kindest Man,” with his Computerized National Identity Card (CNIC).

Luke’s Pakistani friend, Amar, who runs a small business in Jinnah Super Market, has expressed in his videos that he hasn’t been able to get a Computerized National Identity Card (CNIC) from NADRA.

He wrote in his post, “This is my friend Amar, he’s also known as “Pakistan’s Kindest Man” after his hospitality was shown to millions around the world, highlighting the truth about Pakistan and the friendly people here.”

Luke revealed how he first met Amar, “I first met Amar whilst walking down the street in F-7 Jinnah Super Market where he asked if I wanted a new nose ring. After pondering on the idea, I decided to pick one out, and when I asked for the price, he refused payment. Amar then went on to take me to a local shop where he paid for what is now my favorite food in the world… cheese paratha.”

He said he’s kind-hearted, and he may run out of characters if he starts to write about how genuine Amar is. He said, “I have countless stories of Amar that display his kind-hearted nature, but I genuinely will run out of characters on this post if I begin writing them all down. The western media has lied for years about Pakistan, thus tarnishing the country’s reputation. But Amar has proven all these lies wrong with his kindness being broadcasted to over ten million people online, showcasing the truth about Pakistan and the real hospitality this amazing country offers.”

He then began explaining that “Amar was born and raised in Pakistan, on paper, he isn’t actually a Pakistani because he still doesn’t have a Pakistan NIC Card.”

How Difficult it is for People in Pakistan without CNIC

Luke highlighted how difficult it is for Amar to live his daily life without CNIC. He wrote, “Without this ID, he can’t buy a motorbike, he can’t purchase things in his name, or do simple everyday things that most people in the country have the ability and right to do.”

Amar also had to give up his dream to join Pakistan Army because of this reason. “He even had to give up his dream of joining the Pakistan Army because he knew he wouldn’t be allowed to join without this NIC. With this all being said, I humbly request that you give this incredible man the recognition he deserves and grants him with a Pakistan ID.”

Luke didn’t clearly mention the problem with Amar’s documents that he isn’t getting an ID. However, we know that people have encountered issues with NADRA previously, and cases have been resolved. Let’s hope Amar’s case also gets highlighted in media, and he finally gets an ID card.

This Australian YouTuber is Travelling Across Pakistan & Discovered these Delicious Cheese Parathas

Pakistan’s tourism industry is flourishing with each passing year, and that is no secret. While locals make their way to the northern areas of Pakistan, international tourists have also been spotted enjoying the yet to be discovered beauty of Pakistan by travellers abroad.

An Australian YouTuber Luke Damant made his way to Pakistan after spending an ample amount of time in India a year ago. Luke first came to Karachi from where he was planning to travel up North to Islamabad. He came across cheese paratha that was being served at a local restaurant and instantly ordered it. Much to his surprise, he instantly fell in love with it!

In Islamabad, Luke was in awe of the hospitality of locals who offered to pay for his food and gave him free souvenirs

From here onwards, there was no going back! Everywhere Luke travelled next, he wished he could find oozing hot cheese parathas.

In one of his vlogs, Luke says whenever he gets back to Australia, he will start a restaurant that serves cheese paratha. Other than the cheese paratha, Luke also enjoyed Nutella paratha in Islamabad. He said it made a perfect dessert after the cheese paratha.

A video he recently uploaded on his YouTube channel displays his love of cheese paratha at large as he leaves his guest house at 1 AM to hunt down cheese parathas and finds his favourite spot in Islamabad open for a feast.
