The Caretaker Federal Minister for Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony, Aneeq Ahmed, announced the launch of a new Hajj app aimed at aiding Hajj pilgrims.
During his visit to the New Haji Camp, he informed the press that the app was designed to assist pilgrims throughout their journey, from their Hajj flight to their accommodation in Saudi Arabia. This app will provide comprehensive information and guidance, including instructional videos to aid in pilgrim training.
Aneeq highlighted that each pilgrim would receive a complimentary single-coloured QR-coded suitcase to easily identify their belongings. Additionally, every pilgrim will be equipped with a mobile SIM card from a Saudi telecom company, offering 180 minutes of international call time free of charge. He further noted that the Caretaker government had reduced the cost of the official Hajj package by Rs0.1 million.
Regarding the renovation of the New Haji Camp, the Minister stated that the facility had undergone significant refurbishment, with the establishment of a vaccination centre specifically catering to Hajj pilgrims.
He also mentioned the recent ‘Interfaith Harmony Conference’ organised by the Federal Ministry of Religious Affairs, which saw the participation of ambassadors from 30 countries. Aneeq highlighted various ‘Interfaith Harmony Dialogues’ held at universities and religious institutions across Karachi and Islamabad, promoting dialogue and understanding among different faith communities. He stressed the importance of spreading messages of humanity globally.
Aneeq further discussed a project initiated by the Badshahi Mosque in Lahore, aimed at establishing schools and clinics within mosques, with plans for expansion nationwide.
