The Purpose of the Platform ‘Assembly’
The purpose of the platform is to advocate the stories of women and girls around the world. The digital newsletter aims to provide women and girls with a platform of their own to voice their concerns and cover a vast range of topics like recycling, social norms, structural racism, mental health, and climate change.
Why was Assembly Created?
At the age of 11, Malala began blogging about girls’ education. Now she wishes to help other girls tell their stories with the help of the platform. According to the official site, “We created Assembly as a platform for girls and young women around the world to share their thoughts, challenges and accomplishments — and for all of us to learn about this new generation of leaders.”
“Assembly is a space for girls around the world to share their stories, ideas and accomplishments — and it’s an opportunity for all of us to learn from these young leaders,” said Assembly’s editor, Tess Thomas. “We’re excited to provide girls with a platform for their voices and our readers have already started pitching incredible ideas for Assembly!”
