One of the world’s renowned brands, L’Oreal has unveiled not one but two useful beauty devices at CES for individuals with disabilities (limited hand and arm mobility).
The HAPTA device is a makeup tool that helps these individuals apply Lancôme lipstick with a steady hand.
HAPTA is based on tech from Alphabet-owned, ‘Verily’ that levels gears and keeps them stable to help people with limited hand and arm mobility eat independently.
According to the brand, the system has smart motion controls and custom attachments to enable precise application with the help of 360 degrees of rotation and 180 degrees of flexion.
Moreover, it has magnetic attachments for convenience as the user can simply click them into place. It takes almost 3 hours to fully charge the device and each charge will give users 30 minutes, which means it’s good for almost 10+ applications.
‘With HAPTA we are going one step further by making beauty more accessible to use because everyone should have equal access to it.’ – Françoise Lehmann, global brand president of Lancôme
Asides from the lipstick applicator, L’Oreal has also introduced another magical device with Prinker.
Brow Magic can help people achieve a personalised eyebrow based on their facial features and natural brow.
Reportedly, Brow Magic will have 2,400 small nozzles and a printing resolution of up to 1,200 drops per inch. In just seconds, the applicator can apply a precise brow seamlessly.
L’Oreal says the system is based on its Modiface AR technology. Users will need to scan their faces using an app and choose their desired shape, thickness, and effect.
The app will offer micro-blading, micro-shading, and filler recommendations. After the user applies a primer, they’ll need to sweep the device across their eyebrow in a single motion, then add a topcoat.
According to The Verge, Brow Magic and HAPTA are both expected to launch this year. But as per their prices, no confirmations have yet been released as of yet.
