In an unfortunate turn of events, the principal of a school located in Gulshan-e-Hadeed in Karachi has been arrested on allegations of engaging in inappropriate behaviour and sexually assaulting teachers and women in his office. 5 women reported the accused to the police.
Police Investigation Has Begun: 25 Videos Under Scrutiny
The law enforcement authorities have also received explicit videos featuring the accused, Irfan Ghafoor Memon, involved in intimate acts with women and schoolgirls.
Malir SSP Hasan Srdar Niazi also has further information of instances of blackmail and the harassment of women linked to the school’s principal. Videos from CCTV cameras have also been retrieved which will help in the ongoing investigation.
The accused, Irfan Ghafoor Memon was detained by the police and the legal process was started as mentioned by the SSP. He also informed that statements would be recorded from Ali and Shakeel the two electricians who had installed the cameras. The police has received 25 videos from the suspects phone that are under scrutiny at the moment. The women who are affected and are victims of these incidents have also been contacted by the police for their testimonies.

Interim Education Minister Rana Hussain Takes Swift Action
Interim Education Minister Rana Hussain swiftly responded to a scandal reminiscent of the Bahawalpur University incident, taking immediate action by ordering an inquiry. Following Hussain’s directive, the school in question has been temporarily shut down. It was also determined that the school in question is unregistered.
In compliance with the provincial minister’s instructions, the Directorate of Private Institutions has communicated with the Deputy Commissioner of Malir, requesting the closure of the unregistered private school’s premises.
To investigate the matter, Additional Director Registration Rafia Mallah has assembled a four-member committee, with Deputy Director Qurban Bhutto at the helm. The committee includes members Mumtaz Qambrani, Zaid Magsi, and Javed Qazi. The investigative team is scheduled to visit the school on Tuesday to collect relevant information.
SSP Malir Hasan Sardar Niazi while addressing the Media said,
“Regarding the videos of the principal, Irfan Ghafoor Memon, behaving inappropriately at the school, it is reported that he was running an institution called IGM Education System where female students from primary to matric were enrolled. The arrested individual allegedly engaged in indecent activities, particularly with female teaching staff, recorded on closed-circuit cameras.”
SSP Malir Forms Committee with Female Inspector Kulsoom Abbasi
The SSP Malir has formed a committee comprising a female inspector Kulsoom Abbasi responsible for the complaint cell to reach out to all the affected women. The female police officer is included in the committee to provide the victims with support and assurance and provide them with legal assistance.

The scandal emerged after an obscene video of the principal Irfan Memon, and a female teacher circulated on the internet. Initial investigation has revealed that the suspect coerced more than 24 teachers and staff members into having sexual relations with him. He has denied allegations of blackmail and said he was not sexually assaulting any of the women, claiming he had a ‘friendship’ with all them.
