At the young age of 16, we imagine teenage boys to be found at school, in front of a tv playing video games, or playing a sport of some kind. However, what we do not perceive from a teenager is to earn 6 lakhs per month.
Salman Ghauri, a 16-year-old boy from Pakistan, makes a hefty amount per month as a Virtual Assistant for Amazon. This is all because of his hard work. He told a local publication that he began to work in November 2019 when he was just a content writer. “I started my journey back in November 2019 from Content Writing. My father used to scold me for wasting my time wandering and wanted me to focus on something productive and creative,” he said.
Salman told the local publishing site that his success also came from social media coverage of his story from Jan 2021, which boosted his agency.
What Does a Virtual Assistant (VA) Do?
A virtual assistant is an individual who provides administrative support to business owners, whether it is online/offsite. Amazon Virtual Assistant (VA) is someone who works remotely with other amazon businesses online. To become an Amazon VA, one must undergo intensive training and acquire various skills such as content writing, listing audit, optimization, and much more.
If you are trying to sell products/services on Amazon, then the virtual assistants will help you do the job. They can either be employed full-time, part-time or even based on projects – it all comes down to the nature of the contract.
So how did he switch from content writing to Amazon?
In 2020, Salman’s cousin contacted him and told him about the opportunities at Amazon and a place where he can learn how to work in the field. He convinced his father to enrol him in a VA course. This decision changed his life for good. “I had two options. First, PL, which is a private label under which we create our own brand on Amazon or the services option in which you are a VA and sell your services,” he added.
Before even finishing the course, he managed to bag a client whom he worked for efficiently, “Before completing my course, I got my first client for listing audit and optimization, and I efficiently completed the task,” he added.
Challenges Salman Faced due to his Age.
Due to this age, many clients were hesitant to give him the tasks, but that didn’t let Salman down. “Clients were worried about how this kid could grow our business,” he added. At times, he also had to hide his real age to receive tasks.
Even though his young age did bring plenty of challenges his way, he credits it to his fame and success, “Everything brings a new lesson and what was my weakness yesterday had become my strength today. The fame and success I have today are all due to my young age.”
