There is good news for Pakistanis! The individual power ranking of Pakistani Passport has improved to 193 from 199 at the Global Passport Index list of 2020. In accordance with this index, Pakistani Passport was standing at 198, which is second to last position, almost a year ago.
However, the Pakistani passport has now left six countries’ passports behind and gained a higher ranking than them. These are; Iraq (199), Afghanistan (198), Syria (197), Somalia (196), Yemen (195), and Iran (194).
Palestinian territories have beat the Pakistani passport ranking by 1 point (192), however, the global group ranking of both the passports is 63. Acquiring the status of one of the least respected passports in the world is the Iranian Passport, that has declined and now stands at 194.
The Global passport ranking depicts the number of countries your passport holder can travel without visa, how the citizens of your country are treated globally and your country’s place in the world. All in all, it depicts a country’s power and value.

With visa-free or visa-on-arrival access to 191 countries, Japan ranks no.1 on the Henley Passport Index this year for third time in a row, reports CNN.
The world was enjoying the highest privilege of air travel ever in history before Covid-19 struck and led to air travel bans, CNN reports. For decades, the air traffic had gradually risen and an average passport carrier was able to visit 107 destinations globally with visa-free, or visa on arrival access. However, the situation drastically changed, post COVID-19.
The Henley Passport Index has recently released the third report of 2020, highlighting the world’s most powerful and travel-friendly passports.
Even though the passport of the United States of America provides you with visa-free travel to 184 countries, it is however, not the most powerful visa in the world as Japan has broken its record. In 2020 infact, U.S.A did not even make it to the highest five on Henley Passport Index.
Henley Passport Index is a yearly ranking of the global passports to give information to citizens regarding the number of destinations they can visit without getting a visa prior to the arrival.
For third year in a row this year, the title of the world’s strongest passport goes to Japan. This means that Japanese passport holders can travel to 191 countries without visa or visa-on-arrival access.
Japan is followed by Singapore with 190 countries, while Germany and South Korea secured the third spot with 189 countries.
