Designer Humzah Malik calls out Atif Aslam for giving wife Sara credit for styling his outfit for PSL’s official anthem “Agay Dekh.” Malik said it “qualifies as a mockery to professional stylists.”
He wrote in his story on Instagram, highlighting that stylists now die to get credit under posts on Instagram. He said, “A lot of you people will agree with me on this one – Ever since ‘stylist’ became a real job, everyone has been dying to credit someone or the other.”
He highlighted that the popular singer’s wife is not his stylist, and there’s nothing special about her styling either. He wrote, “#AtifAslam No! Son, your wife isn’t your stylist, and there’s nothing so cool about her fashion choices. She (your wife) just helped you put together a nice outfit for just another day in your career. Ab say gharailo kaam bhi news banain gai. Kal ko khaana bana ker dain gi tou “my personal chef, I always liked her food” Although I love the glamorous spin to household chores.
“I feel sorry for all the magazines who are putting up stories and making news out of it. A) That’s a very questionable fibre content B) She has no prior experience, and this qualifies as a mockery to all those professional stylists working out there.”
He concluded by saying, “but on a serious note: Let’s credit the women for all what they do for us. I am all up for celebrating their contribution to our lives and society as a whole.”
In January, after the release of the PSL anthem, Atif took it to his Instagram to thank his wife for styling his outfit for the video. He uploaded photo’s from the music video captioned, “Jeet say bhi agay dekh. Thank you so much for all the love and respect. I knew my wife’s sense of style was a class apart when she chose to marry me. Styled by my beautiful wife. Thank you, Sara.”
He then added, “What a video – considering the short amount or time we had. Well done, @zparwez. The powerful soundscape @abdullah.s.siddiqui.”
Even though the designer put out his opinion harshly, he raised a valid point. Being a popular celebrity stylist is a spot many people are fighting for in the industry these days, and crediting one’s own wife makes their struggle meaningless.

Atif Aslam has released Jaan-e-Rehmat Pe Lakhon Salaam as a Ramadan special. He has been releasing special numbers for the holy month of Ramadan for a while now. This is not the first time Aslam has tried to deliver naats and kalaams. Previously, he has delivered Tajdar-e-Haram for Coke Studio, which was appreciated by many, originally by Maqbool Ahmed Sabri and Ghulam Fareed Sabri.
