There is often news of a women being harassed, raped or murdered in Pakistan. These crimes have now escalated to a level where women are not the only victims, young boys and children are now also part of the evil game.
PM Imran Khan has spoken to HBO in an interview about the rising sex crimes in Pakistan. He mentions that the top most crime in Pakistan was of a sexual nature and the majority of these cases were of child abuse with only” 1% of them being reported. ”
The question that arises is why is this absurd culture of rape and murder getting so common ?
If it is for the lust inside men, only young women would have been the target, but the stats show that it is not about the lust for women, it is about the evil mind set which enjoys by torturing, manipulating and ruling on people by playing God. It is the feeling of being above the law and to use other humans (women and kids) as objects to rule over them.
Apparently, this culture has developed and promoted over time because the law has either protected the accused somehow or not carried out an exemplary punishment.
It has been observed that majority of the accused were either rich spoiled kids or backed and powered by the feudal and political backgrounds. The cases took limelight for a while and chants for justice echoed, but no exemplary punishments were given to circulate a clear message of ‘No Mercy’ over this inhumane behavior.
The law is often misused and facts are twisted to turn the tables on the accused. And they get away even stronger and energized to kill a few more innocents, as they already know at the back of their mind that the law is not as strong as their connections. And they will remain unharmed irrespective of what they do.
The disciplines written in the books of law will be of no use, until they are read, understood, and used practically and wisely by the ones in charge, to punish the convicts and make examples. These examples will mark and sustain the rule of law and masses will have a clear message that there is no getting away anymore.
Just in recent times, there are numerous cases, but the voice raised against it fades away after a while. These protests, blogs, demonstrations are indeed important, but it is more important that law must take strong action, and no connections and affiliations should be above it.

Shah Hussain, who was convicted and sent to prison for 5 years in 2018 for stabbing Khadija Siddiqui, a law student 23 times for merely refused his marriage proposal. The case was pleaded by Khadija Siddiqui herself after her recovery.
Hussain was charged with multiple section of Pakistan Penal Code including 324 (attempt to murder), along with 337A(i), (ii), 337F(i), (ii) and (iv), and was sent to prison for 5 years. However, he got released after 3.5 years on 17 July on technical grounds. As per records, he could secure remission on basis of performing labor in prison, good conduct, blood donations and educational remission available on graduation.
Now the questions arises that, just a punishment of 3.5 years is enough for a psychopath who attempted to murder a girl brutally by stabbing her 23 times?
The convicted criminal, Hussain availed “technical remissions” which are given for blood donations and good conduct as per the law and the Constitution according to Punjab Prisons Minister Fayyazul Hassan Chohan who revealed this in a video statement released recently.

Now that he has been set free, who is responsible for the security of Khadija Siddiqui if Hussain tries to harass her again?
