Ali Sethi and Shae Gill’s Pasoori from Coke Studio’s season 14 has made it to the top 3 on Spotify Global viral 50 list.
Sethi announced the news on Instagram, he said Zulfiqar Khan told him it would top the charts last year, but he didn’t believe it at the time. He wrote, “One year ago when @zulfiqarjkhan heard this tune I’d sent him on a voice note, he told me with a tremendous calm that it will enter the global charts. I laughed, drank my coffee, and put it out of my mind. today, I woke up to this… insanely happy for @abdullah.s.siddiqui @shaegilll @sherrykhattak and @zulfiqarjkhan.”
Ali congratulated the team behind Pasoori and also thanked fans and well-wishers. “..many many congratulations to us, and a EDDA VADDA thanks to all you lovers — dildaars and sab yaars — who are pow-ing this #pasoori at the GLOBAL LEVEL”

The song has been playing at the mall, in cars, in cafes – basically, anywhere we go. It is one of the most famous songs from Coke Studio’s season 14. Many well-known influencers, artists, actors, musicians congratulated Sethi under the post.
Makeup guru and madam Noor Jehan’s granddaughter Natasha Ali Lakhani who goes by the name beyondbeautynatasha wrote in a comment, “This song is truly transcendent.”
Pakistani origin artist Misha Japanwala wrote “Amazing” under Sethi’s post.
Sethi’s sister Mira, an actor and a writer, didn’t leave the chance to leave fire emojis on his post.
A fan commented, “Pasoori is more than just a song; it’s a revolution of how Pakistani create, perceive, and are perceived. This is a win for all of today. Congratulations!!”
Musician Faisal Kapadia congratulated Ali. He commented, “Bohat Mubarak!”
Indian-American filmmaker Mira Nair also congratulated Ali on this milestone. She commented. “Fully deserved and beautifully soaring.”
Musician Talal Qureshi commented, “Yea boss.”
Coke Studio’s producer, Zulfiqar Khan, commented, “I don’t know how to describe what I feel right now. Mujhe naheen pata. I don’t. I’m just thinking of that time… that time we had this conversation.”
A fan commented, “The rhythm and melody of this so divine that it connects with everyone’s heart. The lyrics are so melancholic that tears apart everyone’s soul”.
