Pakistani singer-songwriter Abrar Ul Haq has accused producer-filmmaker Karan Johar of illegally using his popular song ‘Nach Punjaban’ in his upcoming movie Jugjugg Jeeyo.
Abrar-Ul-Haq took it to the micro-blogging site to announce that he has not sold his song ‘Nach Punjaban’ to any Indian movie and reserve the right to claim damages. “I have not sold my song “ Nach Punjaban” to any Indian movie and reserve the rights to go to court to claim damages.”
Given that Indian filmmaker Karan Johar is a big name in India’s entertainment industry, using songs of Pakistani artists without buying rights shouldn’t be set as a precedent by him for young filmmakers. ” Producers like @karanjohar should not use copy songs.”
Abrar concluded the tweet by tagging Dharma Movies and Karan Johar and saying that this is his 6th song that is being copied which will not be allowed at all, “This is my 6th song being copied which will not be allowed at all. @DharmaMovies @karanjohar”.

Karan Johar’s upcoming song Juggjug Jeeyo’s trailer came out a day ago, and since then, it has been making rounds on social media for blatantly copying Abrar-Ul-Haq’s song.
In Pakistan, #NachPunjaban has been trending since last night as people are upset with Bollywood picking songs from Pakistani artists without buying copyrights.
