No one can imagine what 14-year-old Rizwana is going through. The little girl was living a happy life until she became a victim of domestic violence by her employers.
Rizwana was a minor yet was working as a housemaid. She was allegedly subjected to brutal torture by the wife of a civil judge in Islamabad.
The spouse of Civil Judge Asim Hafeez, who serves at the Federal Judicial Academy, allegedly subjected her maid to torture, accusing her of stealing gold jewellery. The young girl was subsequently returned to her parents, who took her to Sargodha for medical treatment before relocating her to Lahore.
Although Rizwana was there only for 6 months, she had more than 15 torture marks, allegedly she was also forced to drink Harpic when she had asked for water, her wounds became so bad and rotten that maggots had started to feed on the little girl.
PM Assures Justice for Rizwana
The Prime Minister called for a comprehensive report and instructed Punjab Chief Minister Syed Mohsin Naqvi to ensure the best possible medical care for the injured girl.
He emphasized that every possible effort must be exerted to save her life and restore her health. Additionally, he stressed the importance of ensuring justice for the oppressed girl.
The Prime Minister underscored that justice and the rule of law should prevail without partiality towards anyone, regardless of their status as the accused. He stated that oppressors and those who violate the law should not be shown any leniency.
Furthermore, he urged the police not to yield to any pressure and to strictly uphold the law, as a society could not tolerate such lawlessness and cruelty. The Prime Minister provided assurance to the parents of the wounded child that justice would be served.

Rizwana’s Health Condition
Sara Ahmed, Chairperson of the Child Protection Bureau, expressed grave concern over the deteriorating health of Rizwana, a victim of domestic violence. According to Sara Ahmed’s statement, Rizwana’s health has worsened while she is being treated at the general hospital.
Sara Ahmed made an earnest appeal to the Chief Justice of Pakistan and the Supreme Court, urging them to take suo motu notice of this appalling incident. She emphasized the need for the case to be heard on a daily basis to ensure justice for Rizwana and her family.
Furthermore, Sara Ahmed called for expediting the investigation, prosecution, and judicial process in this case, as the incident has caused damage to the country’s reputation on the global stage.
Additionally, Sara Ahmed disclosed that Rizwana’s parents have been offered the option to have their daughter stay at the Child Protection Bureau after her recovery. This arrangement aims to provide Rizwana with better education and upbringing opportunities.
