The upcoming drama Idiot, featuring Ahmed Ali Akbar and Mansha Pasha, celebrates the misfits who refuse to conform to societal norms and strive to create a world aligned with their vision.
Green Entertainment released the trailer on Wednesday, describing it as an ode to rebels and social misfits who question the dysfunctional man-made norms of society.
The trailer begins with Akbar seemingly meditating, while the narrator asks, “Who are you?” and highlights the importance of self-discovery.
The scene then shifts to a younger Akbar, who asks a man tending to goats whether they offer goats as a sacrifice to God or for people. This question leads to his father reprimanding him for not respecting his elders.

The camera then switches back to adult Akbar, whose face is covered in bruises. We see Pasha running towards an edge overlooking the water while Akbar remarks, “The courage needed for suicide outweighs the courage needed to solve life’s problems by far.”
Akbar’s character is empathetic towards those who are suffering, whether they are humans, animals, or plants. Despite his kindness, he faces conflicts when he raises his voice against something unjust.
Even his love life experiences tremors when there’s discord in personal ideology – one example is him freeing birds from cages his significant other loves so much. Professionally, he has been fired from 25 jobs, making life even more challenging for him.
Akbar’s character is a free spirit who wishes to liberate any being he comes across that is suffering. He is an outcast and is misunderstood by those around him.
He is reprimanded by people around him for being himself, kidnapped and threatened. They call him mentally unfit, they call him an idiot.
Directed by Anjum Shahzad, Idiot has been written by Kifayat Rodani, and it will air on Green Entertainment, which will run its test transmission next month. This drama is an attempt to raise awareness and bring to light the issues that many misfits face in society.
It highlights the struggles that people face when they refuse to conform to societal norms and instead seek to create a world that aligns with their vision.
