The drama serial ‘Kuch Ankahi’ has come up like a fresh breath of air for television fanatics who are tired of cliche storylines. With a subtle approach, the drama has broken gender-role stereotypes and people are relieved!
Pakistanis are head-over-heels in love with the story, characters, and how director Nadeem Baig has subtly addressed the issue of ‘gender roles’ in our society.
Starring Sajal Aly, Bilal Abbas Khan, and Mira Sethi alongside veterans Vaneeza Ahmed and Muhammad Ahmed, the show openly shows that men can contribute to household chores without there being a huge fuss over it.

Moreover, the show beautiful shows another very important subject line, that daughters are enough, they are equivalent to sons and they are all that their parents will need to live a beautiful and happy life.
In the drama, the 3-sisters are more than enough for their parents, giving society a shut-up call. Moreover, the conversations in Kuch Ankahi between the parents and their children are very heart-warming and may even leave you teary-eyed.

Moving on, the drama yet again wins hearts by breaking stereotyping on age – after all, it’s just a number and we couldn’t have agreed more!
Samiya (Mira Sethi) is under the pressure of getting married by 28 because by then women are considered too old, white hair starts to show, and of course, these things can only lead to taunts by the MIL. But, Samiya quietly takes one thing at a time with her mother all for the sake of her happiness and her family’s peace.
What’s even more beautiful is that the domestic worker ‘Meena’, despite her religion not being up-right identified (hints are she is non-Muslim) is treated equally as if she was another member of the family, which shows the importance of treating everyone alike. Moreover, it sends a positive image that we care about minorities as much as we do about each other.
We hope that the drama serial continues to make waves on the TC screens and continues to receive the love it has been getting.
