Pakistani drama serial Mein Aisi Kiun Hun receives flak online for shaming women for their curly hair.
The depiction of domestic violence, emotional abuse, and stalking women was not enough in Pakistani dramas. They are now showcasing a husband who is unhappy with his wife’s curly hair in “Mai Aisi Kyun Hun” [Why am I Like This]
Clips that went viral on social media from the drama show a husband expressing his disgust for his wife’s curly hair in a few scenes. He further belittles his wife for passing on her curly hair to their daughter. Internet users are furious as showcasing such ideas on tv will further hurt women with curly hair in our society.
Already curly hair isn’t appreciated in our society, and straight hair is preferred. Some years ago, we didn’t even have products for curly hair available in the local market, nor did we have hairstylists who were trained to style curly hair. Now, we see women finally accepting themselves, their bodies, skin color, hair type – we don’t need such content on our tv.
Here’s what Internet Users Had to Say:
What kind of intoxication are these writers under when writing scripts such as these?

Female actresses who have been asked to play the role should reject it.
Why are these girls starring in such dramas? Why degrade yourself that much, man? https://t.co/kKFMHNlxCT

A user expressed her views. They said they are not promoting straight hair or demeaning curly hair, the drama highlights a man who is insecure and barmy.
In my opinion this particular drama is not promoting straight hair or demeaning curly hair, instead it is just highlighting a man who is insecure and barmy.
