Pakistani actress Mahira Khan’s much-celebrated drama serial from last year, Hum Kahan Kay Sachay Thay, has ended last night.

The series spanned across 22 weeks and was aired on Hum Tv Network weekly. As per fans, the last episode of the series was beautiful even though the show was dragged throughout.

In the last episode, Mehreen Mansoor, played by Mahira Khan, forgives Aswaad’s character, played by Usman Mukhtar, and gives him a second chance, which translates as a ‘happy ending’ for the series, even though it was criticized by all angels when it was on-air.

Mehreen tells Aswaad in the last episode that Mashal has saved her life, and she wishes she could have done the same. Many believe that this statement proves that the plot is flawed as Mehreen continues to hallucinate Mashal all the time.

Even though Mehreen has forgiven Aswaad, fans believe he doesn’t deserve it.

Some believe that emotional abuse is being normalized again. As always, the woman forgives and forgets and settles back with an abusive family and falls in love with the same person again.

A Twitter user said, “The first 10-13 episodes of this drama were so good that I thought this could be the best Pakistani drama I have watched.  He then added, “but they dragged it in the next episodes, the last two episodes were good though, Mahira Khan is an amazing actress, she should do more dramas!”

Some users loved the episodes and cried a lot because the storyline touched their hearts like no other

Some credited Mahira Khan for her impactful scenes, such as the one with the mumani.

The last episode was clearly worth the wait. People are now planning to download all episodes to binge-watch soon

That’s another way of looking at the scenario

“Toxic families are real. Trauma is real, but so is healing,” said a user.

More praise for Mahira Khan’s character. A user said, “provided free therapy to many in the previous episode. You told them they are perfect as they are. Hopefully, there will be more to look forward to in the last episode for our elders.”

Pakistani dramas have exhilarated with time, and many are acknowledged globally for their unique narratives. However, there was a real need for a different narrative that didn’t portray characters of women stuck in distressed marriages, victims of domestic or emotional violence, forced into marriage, or assaulted. Many filmmakers and drama makers recognized the issue at hand and created opportunities for actresses to play more vital roles in authority.
