Acne can be mild or cystic and when it starts to occur it can become distressing, However, you don’t need to worry about it because acne is natural and many people experience it in their lives.
One of the most common causes of acne is a hormonal imbalance. Changes in the body and sometimes our hormones cause glands under our skin to produce more oil than it should resulting in bacteria growing and clogging our pores.
Although there are various conventional treatments available for treating acne, they are pretty expensive and may have some side effects too.
So here are a few homemade and natural remedies that can help fade your acne scars. However, if you have severe acne it is best to seek the advice of a medical professional.
1. Green Tea For Acne Prone Skin
Applying 2-3 percent of green tea extract to your face can significantly lessen the amount of oil and sebum production and minimize pimples. The antioxidant in green tea ‘epigallocatechin 2 gallate (EGCG) fights inflammation and reduces sebum. The perfect way to use green tea for skin is to boil green tea for 3 to 5 minutes and allow it to cool down, then using a cotton swab, soak it in the cool green tea and gently apply to your skin, let it dry and then rinse with water. You may even pour the green tea in a spray bottle.
2. Pure Aloe Vera
If you want your pimple to vanish instantly or overnight, apply fresh aloe vera gel before going to bed. Aloe vera has the most soothing properties and can help in the healing of acne and scarring. It also helps with the redness of skin caused by a harsh chemical in makeup or skincare product and contains sulfur and salicylic acid which are used widely for acne treatments. The procedure is simple, you just have to extract fresh aloe gel from tropical aloe vera plant with a spoon and directly apply to your skin, you may use it twice a day.
3. Coconut Oil
Pure coconut oil can be your skin’s best friend if you incorporate it in your skincare routine. It doesn’t just help with acne scars, but also helps rejuvenate your skin giving you a natural dewy glow. The best way to use it is taking a medium amount and slightly warm it up rubbing your palms together, you can also dab it on your lips and under your eyes for naturally brightening up dark lips and fade dark circles. However, using too much coconut oil can cause breakouts. So make sure you only use it on the areas needed.
4. Cinnamon & Honey Mask
These two things easily available in your kitchen are some of the best natural remedies for treating acne with anti-bacterial oxidants. Occurrence of inflammation and bacteria are the two main factors which trigger acne and these two things have the ability to fight them. Take two tablespoons of honey and 1 teaspoon of cinnamon, make a thick paste, apply as a mask to a clean, oil free face and let it sit for 10-15 minutes. Rinse with water, do not rub towel, let your face dry on its own or just pat dry.
5. Turmeric
Turmeric consists of curcumin which is perfect for acne scar treatment. Containing antioxidants that reduce the production of melanin that adds discoloration to your acne scars and make them go brown or even darker. You can use it with honey following the same method mentioned above. Add turmeric and honey in equal amount, mix it well and apply it for about 15-20 minutes, exfoliate gently, using 3 fingers in upward and circular motion and rinse with chilled water.
