It’s scorching hot outside, which means it’s time to take out our utensils and whip ourselves a delicious, cool, tasty bowl of ice cream to beat the heat!
With electricity playing hide-and-seek and many households not having the right machines, today we will share 3 DIY recipes that you can make at home with basic ingredients.
So, without further ado, here is our first recipe:
1. Cookies & Cream [Oreo Ice Cream]
Kids absolutely love the biscuit and so do the adults. Almost all of us have been eating these yummy biscuits throughout our childhood by following its tagline – twist, lick, dunk! Here is what you need to do to make some finger-licking ice cream:
- Take a Ziplock or any bag and pour in the Oreos
- Use a rolling pin or any other utensil to crush the biscuits
- Then, take a bowl and add about 2 cups (480ml) of cold heavy cream
- Whip the cream until it becomes fluffy and thick like a marshmallow
- Add 1 can of sweet condensed milk to the cream
- Whip again until it is well blended
- Add the crushed Oreo to the batter and mix gently
- Empty the batter into a dish, smoothen the surface, add some crushed biscuits on top, and then cover it with a plastic sheet
- Let it chill for at least 6 hours in the freezer
2. Lotus Ice Cream
The distinct flavour of Lotus Biscoff is loved by many! To make a bowl of Lotus ice cream, you’ll need to do the following:
- Whip 2 cups of heavy cream (cold) until it becomes fluffy
- Add ¾ cup of sweetened condensed milk
- Add 1 cup of melted Lotus Biscoff cookie butter
- Whip the batter until blended
- Chop/crush 10-12 Lotus Biscoff biscuits and then add to the mixture
- Stir gently, pour it out in a container, add some crushed biscuits on top, cover with plastic, and let it freeze for at least 6 hours
3. Peanut Butter Ice Cream
We’d advise for you to make this recipe only if no one in your household is allergic to nuts. For this, you’ll need to:
- Whip 2 cups of heavy cream (cold) until it becomes fluffy
- Add ¾ cup of sweetened condensed milk
- Pour 1 cup of natural peanut butter into the mixture and mix well
- Crush/chop roasted peanuts (roughly crushed) and add them to the mixture
- Mix well, pour it out in a container, garnish with nuts, pack in plastic wrap and freeze for at least 6 hours
