Pakistani girl Rose Mary has marked her presence in Yoga globally by winning a Yoga competition that took place in Nepal on the 14th of October.
The news of the young girl’s achievement made rounds on social media rather too late. However, better late than never.
We congratulate Rose Mary for winning this competition and wish her luck for many more to come!
It was Zaheer Alam Kidvai who reminded the nation of this little girl’s achievement globally! He said in a post on Facebook:
Rose Mary Wins Yoga Competition in Nepal. Pakistani Christian girl needs to be congratulated but our Press didn’t do that in any news story 🙁

Why is Yoga so Important For us?
Yoga has been a vital form of exercise for ages. It helps greatly with incorporating breathing and meditation that immensely improves a person’s mental health. The main purpose of Yoga is to build strength and balance in both the mind and body. Other than that, Yoga helps you strengthen your immune system too!
Dr. Nevins says, “Regular yoga practice creates mental clarity and calmness, increases body awareness, relieves chronic stress patterns, relaxes the mind; centers attention, and sharpens concentration because they can help with early detection of physical problems and allow for early preventive action.”
“The relaxation techniques incorporated in yoga can lessen chronic pain, such as lower back pain, arthritis, headaches, and carpal tunnel syndrome,” explains Dr. Nevins.
“Yoga can also lower blood pressure and reduce insomnia.”
Other physical benefits of yoga include:
- improved respiration, energy, and vitality
- increased flexibility
- weight reduction
- improved athletic performance
- increased muscle strength and tone
- maintaining a balanced metabolism
- cardio and circulatory health
- protection from injury
Other than physical advantages, yoga helps individuals manage stress. It is absolutely beautiful to take a break, remind yourself that life is more than the chaos around us. Stress altogether has mortifying effects on our mind and body, and we must learn to manage it.
“Stress can reveal itself in many ways, including back or neck pain, sleeping problems, headaches, drug abuse, and an inability to concentrate,” says Dr. Nevins.
“Yoga can be very effective in developing coping skills and reaching a more positive outlook on life.”
