Welcome back to another great recipe for the week!
Brookies are an innovative and perky creation. When chocoholics are craving choc chip cookies and brownies simultaneously, it’s time for a foodgasm!
Weekends have become dreadful due to Covid-19. Cranky moms and dull kids can now find themselves occupied for hours with this superb activity. Cut your cookies into your favorite shapes, drizzle them with chocolate/strawberry sauce or eat them as is; you’re bound to smack your lips!
Prep Time: 20 Mins
Cooking Time: 40 Mins

Calories: 250 (per serving)
Ingredients:
For brownies:
1/2 c. melted butter
3/4 c. granulated sugar
1/2 c. unsweetened cocoa powder
2 large eggs
1/2 tsp. pure vanilla extract
1 c. all-purpose flour
1/2 tsp. kosher salt
For cookies:
1/2 c. butter softened
1/2 c. packed brown sugar
1/4 c. granulated sugar
1 large egg
1 tsp. pure vanilla extract
1 1/2 c. all-purpose flour
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. kosher salt
1 c. chocolate chips
Flaky sea salt, for sprinkling
Instructions:
Preheat your oven to 350°.
For brownies: In a large bowl, whisk together melted butter, sugar, and cocoa powder. Add eggs and vanilla and whisk until glossy. Add flour and salt and whisk until just combined. Refrigerate while you make the chocolate chip cookie dough.
For cookies: In another large bowl, using a hand mixer, beat together butter and the sugars until light and fluffy. Add the egg and vanilla and beat until combined. Add flour, baking soda, salt, and beat until just combined, then fold in the chocolate chips.
For brookies: Using a small scoop, form a heaping scoop of each dough into balls. Take one brownie dough ball and one cookie dough ball and roll them together. Repeat with remaining doughs.
Place on a prepared baking sheet, then flatten slightly and sprinkle with sea salt. Bake until golden around the edges and just set. Let cool completely.
Tada!
Tips:
- I recommend using 2 types of chocolate chips, either semisweet and dark or white chocolate and dark.
- You can use ready-made cookie dough.
- Brookies can be stored in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days.
- Freeze for longer storage.
- Don’t forget to wear your baking gloves!
