To sip or not to sip is the question every Lahori has on their mind! Canadian brand Tim Hortons witnessed a grand launch in Lahore over the weekend marking the highest opening-day sales in 61 years of the brand.
Also known as Tims, the famous brew brand opened its first branch in the country to a tremendous response. Lahoris waited in long queues to get a sip of coffee along with Tim Bits.
Many pictures went viral on social media, where Twitteratis and netizens showed off their presence, however, at the same time, others were quick to criticize that on one side of the bridge, you have people waiting in lines for flour and rice while on the other end its the same for coffee.
One such celebrity to take up this point was Farhan Saeed who tweeted:
There are 2 #Pakistan (s), one that are in queue of utility stores for aata & ghee, & the other is at #TimHortons. It scares me , that there is nothing in the middle scares me . #PakistanEconomicCrisis

‘On one hand poor are lining up for one bag of subsidised flour and riches are queueing up for Tim Hortons’ coffee. If Star Bucks and Pret A Manger are eyeing Pakistan, FBR must think of taxing those who are enjoying Europe in Pakistan without paying a penny of tax.’ Wrote Riaz ul Haq.

About Tim Hortons
Tim Hortons is a Canadian brand known for its coffee and doughnuts. Founded in 1964 by Tim Horton, a professional hockey player, the brand has become a staple in Canadian culture and has expanded to over 4,000 locations worldwide.
Tim Hortons offers a variety of menu items, their most popular offerings are their coffee and baked goods. The chain’s signature coffee is a blend of Arabica and Robusta beans, and it can be enjoyed in a variety of styles, from the classic cup of joe to flavoured lattes and cappuccinos. Tim Hortons’ doughnuts are also a fan favourite, with classic options like glazed, jelly-filled, and powdered sugar, as well as seasonal and special flavours.
One of the things that set Tim Hortons apart from other fast food chains is its commitment to giving back to the community. The Tim Hortons Foundation was established in 1974 and has raised over $200 million to support charities and organizations that help children in need. The foundation operates camps for children with disabilities and disadvantaged youth, giving them the chance to experience new activities and build self-esteem.
In addition to its philanthropic efforts, Tim Hortons has a reputation for being a responsible corporate citizen. The company is committed to sustainability and has implemented initiatives to reduce its carbon footprint, such as recycling coffee cups and using environmentally friendly packaging. They also source their coffee beans from Rainforest Alliance Certified farms, which promotes sustainable agriculture and protects natural habitats.
