A famous bakery based in Karachi called Pie in the Sky has come out with a Rooh Afza Cheesecake that has received mixed reviews online ahead of Eid-Ul-Fitr.
The bakery is known for its cakes, biscuits, bread, cookies, etc. and frequently comes out with seasonal products such as Christmas cakes, Eid cakes, and other significant occasions. Recently, it released its RoohAfza cheesecake a week before Eid in collaboration with Hamdard.
The pairing is quite controversial, If I may say so. People who love cheesecakes understand how quickly adding an ingredient can ruin the cake’s flavor profile. It’s not the first time the original cheesecakes recipe has been altered with a foreign ingredient. Bakers use lotus spread and biscuits, oreas, and even Nutella at times to shake up the recipe a bit.
A significant number of people do love these additions to their cheesecake. In contrast, others simply dismiss the idea of making an already sweet cake even sweeter, canceling out the flavor of cheesecake altogether.
Rooh Afza is probably the most consumed beverage during Ramadan, and cheesecakes are abundantly consumed during Eid. The combination of the two is quite risky. It could prove to be a hit or a miss.
On social media, people have been leaving mixed reviews.
Some are just not buying the idea of these two ingredients together; others are willing to taste it.
Additionally, the bakery has also released a Rooh Afza Mousse cake
