Pakistan’s 11-year-old taekwondo sensation Ayesha Ayaz has once again made this nation proud, this time by winning a gold medal at the Taekwondo International Championship 2022 ongoing in Thailand.
The young martial artist secured a gold as well as a silver medal at the championship. Moreover, this young 11-year-old has become the first Pakistani female athlete to win 2 golds and a silver and bronze in international taekwondo championships.
Pakistan Taekwondo Federation (PTF) president Lt Col Waseem Ahmed Janjua and secretary Murtaza Hassan Bangash congratulated the young athlete on her remarkable victory, saying that Ayesha is an asset to the country and she will make the country even more proud in the future.

Ayesha Ayaz is the daughter of one of Pakistan’s greatest gems, player and coach Ayaz Naik who has served as her coach in previous events. He has expressed his gratitude to those who made this achievement possible by showing their support for the young athlete.
“If we support the top performing children like Ayesha at this age, we can bring more prestige to the country in the field of sports on the international level,” he said.
While young children her age are usually seen on smartphones and binging shows, this amazing young lady is on the path to becoming one of Pakistan’s professional athletes in martial arts. The powerhouse grabbed attention after becoming the youngest competitor to win a bronze medal for her country at the seventh edition of the Fujairah Taekwondo Open Championship in the UAE in 2019.
“I really love taekwondo and my aim is to get Olympic gold for Pakistan,” the young athlete told Gulf News. Moreover, at the event, Ayaz dedicated her first international win to Pakistan’s former Prime Minister (at the time) Imran Khan.
Talking to Gulf News, Lieutenant-Colonel (retired) Wasim Ahmad, president of the Pakistan Taekwondo Federation (PTF), said the young star is very dedicated. “She has demonstrated outstanding dedication and accuracy at an early age,” he shared.
