Pakistan has just recently released Kaavan after American singer, Cher pushed the present government. It took her almost 3 years to release the elephant who was living in a zoo in Islamabad in horrible conditions. While Kaavan enjoys his newly attained freedom somewhere far, many other animals are still trapped in the same facilities.
Some people even politicised PTI Govt facilitation of freeing Kaavan. Cher vouched for it and busted the propaganda on it by openly praising PM Khan. #بندہ_پرفیکٹ_ہے

What will it take for Pakistan to recognise this problem? Another celebrity from the west? How long will these wild animals live in these sanctuaries alone under appalling conditions? Pakistani celebrities, including Hamza Ali Abbasi and Mehwish Hayat, are finally recognising the problem at hand.
Abbasi requested his followers on Twitter to raise their voices if they agree with his stance:
“If you agree, please be the voice for those who can’t speak for themselves and make this hashtag trend for as long as we can so maybe someone in the decision-making arena may listen especially after IHC ruling.”

A few days ago, Mehwish Hayat also shared her concerns over the matter on Twitter:
“In a country where we’re still fighting for human rights, animal rights are a long way off,” she shared her displeasure and disappointment. Mehwish also questioned the system. “Why do we only take action when foreign celebrities get involved? This is so embarrassing. Animals are born free – the authorities must shut these zoos now!”

Other than the zoo’s, there should be a complete ban on people purchasing and keeping wild animals in their homes. Recently, a picture of Kashif Zameer and his guest, Engin Altan from Turkey were spotted with a lion in a photograph taken at what looks like Zameer’s residence in Lahore.
This is not the first time we have spotted wild animals kept in homes, here in Pakistan. On multiple occasions, these animals have been mistreated, which is nothing but cruel.
Can we get @cher back in to save this lion. Or maybe the Turkish star could have intervened and done his good deed of the day. #wildanimalsarenotpets @eadksk pic.twitter.com/fXpguATCNT
