Pakistani Actress Mehwish Hayat is known to be vocal regarding her opinions on current affairs and social issues. When it comes to making an important point, Hayat says it directly without beating around the bush.
As I type this, the world is glued to their TV screens, anxiously waiting to see who gets appointed as the next US President. Both Republican Donald Trump and Democrat Joe Biden are competing for the presidency neck to neck.
Mehwish took it to her Instagram and shared a quote that said, “When America sneezes, the world catches a chilly,” pointing out that the impact of the US presidential race spreads far and wide.
She further added, “Was dismayed to learn from friends that areas in major cities are being boarded up expecting civil unrest.”
Mehwish then drew a parallel between Pakistani elections and US elections, “A real sense of deja vu! Seems we are not the only ones who have a monopoly on “interesting” elections. Let’s see who gets the keys to the White House for the next four years. Any thoughts on who it should be?”
Unexpectedly, Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden is not considerably behind President Donald Trump. This is for the first time that the vote count is taking longer than expected because the world as we know it is fighting a battle with a pandemic.
