In a recent development, Maryam Nawaz, who is the political successor of Nawaz Sharif, emerged as the party’s choice for the position of chief minister of Punjab.

Following a gathering at the residence of PML-Q Chief Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain, PML-N President Shehbaz Sharif officially declared Maryam’s selection as the Punjab CM nominee during a press briefing.

Shehbaz stated, “The decision to nominate Maryam for this role has been endorsed by the party leadership and our founder, Quaid Nawaz Sharif.”

With the PML-N securing 131 seats in the Punjab assembly, alongside its coalition allies, preparations are underway to establish governance in the province.

Additionally, the PML-N leadership has designated Shehbaz Sharif as their nominee for the Prime Ministerial position. Both the Pakistan Peoples Party and the Muttahida Quami Movement have pledged their support for Shehbaz.

Meanwhile, the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) is gearing up to lead the government in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa for the third consecutive term.

During an informal interaction with the media within Adiala Jail, where he is detained, PTI’s incarcerated founder, Imran Khan, nominated Ali Amin Gandapur as their candidate for the CM KP seat.
