The coveted Lux Style Awards 2023 will be held in Karachi this year at the Arts Council. The 22nd edition of the event promisies to be full of glitz and glam and will be attended by the crème de la crème of Pakistan’s entertainment industry.
Renowned fashion models, stylists, fashion designers, musicians, film and TV stars, singers, composers and the people behind the camera are celebrated at the LSA’s and the best are nominated and then awarded for all their hard work. The LSA 2023’s silver coveted trophy will be awarded to various personalities from the fashion, film, music and TV industry for all their exceptional work in the year 2022.
However this year, it seems like the recent nominations did not sit well with some of the celebrities, while some believed the nominations were pretty unfair others such as popular fashion model and muse, Mushk Kaleem believes that the Lux Style Awards should definitely be cancelled.
“Looking at the Lux Style Awards fashion nominations, at this point, they should just completely cancel all fashion awards.”
She further on went on to mention,
“Please help us understand who this mysterious model ‘Aisha Kamran’ is and on what basis is she nominated in?”
For the music categories, the talented Abida Parveen and Sethi are in the spotlight as nominees for the coveted title of Singer of the Year. Abida Parveen earned her nomination for her mesmerizing rendition of ‘Tu Jhoom,’ while Sethi’s soulful performance in ‘Pasoori’ secured his place in the highly competitive category. Another name popular in the Music category is Abdullah Siddiqui who has bagged multiple nominations for the 22nd edition of the awards.
In the world of cinema, ‘Joyland’ and ‘Kamli,’ both are nominated for the esteemed ‘Best Film’ category critics. These two cinematic masterpieces garnered attention for their exceptional storytelling and outstanding performances. While the viewers category sees London Nahi Jaunga in the lead.
The nominations have sparked a debate amongst celebrities who have spoken up against the Lux style awards governing body.
Rabiya Kulsoom has rightfully pointed out why the great Atif Aslam has been nominated for the emerging talent for TV for his role in Sang e Mah and so has Azan Sami Khan for Ishq e Laa, both are prominent singers and have been in the industry for long.

Fans and followers of Wahaj Ali have called out the Lux Style Awards for being unfair as the dapper actor has not been nominated for any of his 2022 dramas, the now silver screen star was seen in a phenomenal role in periodic drama Jo Bichar Gaye alongside Maya Ali, however the drama or the actors have not been nominated in any category.

Apart from this, the film category is reigned by London Nahi Jaunga however, the leading lady Mehwish Hayat is nowhere to be seen on the list of nominations, on the other hand Kubra Khan has been nominated for the same.
