The CSS, or Central Superior Services, examination in Pakistan is renowned for its arduous nature and intense competition. However, Kiran Khatri, a young woman from the country’s most economically disadvantaged district managed to conquer the exam without enrolling in any coaching classes.
The FPSC, responsible for conducting this highly esteemed examination to select candidates for prestigious positions in civil services, presents an extensive syllabus that requires substantial effort to thoroughly cover.
The Pakistani government has opened up greater opportunities for individuals from the lower and middle classes to join the elite services. Several individuals from minority communities have excelled in this field, and the newest addition to this distinguished list is Kiran Khatri, a resident of Mithi in the Tharparkar district of Sindh.
Independent Urdu recently published a report recounting Kiran’s inspiring journey from Thar, as she succeeded in the CSS examination and secured a position in the inland revenue service. Remarkably, she becomes the first woman from the least developed region to pass the exam and cements her name in history as the third Hindu girl from Sindh to achieve this feat.
This proud civil servant aspires to serve in law enforcement, but she was assigned to the inland revenue sector. Her official training is scheduled to commence in October of this year. This dedicated young woman completed her MBBS from Liaquat University of Medical and Health Sciences and even undertook a house job while working as a lecturer.
During her medical service, she encountered numerous hardships, which motivated her to compete in the CSS examination. Kiran studied from her home in Mithi and chose online classes as an alternative to coaching in order to acquire knowledge.
Kiran aims to inspire millions, hailing from a region known for its poverty, limited access to water, seasonal migration, and early marriages.
Kudos to Kiran Khatri for this amazing achievement, proving that we all have the power to change our destiny if we work towards it.
