Wahaj Ali has taken over our screens in 2023 with back-to-back hit shows such as ‘Mujhe Pyar Hua Tha’, ‘Tere Bin’, and now Jurm.
The series was first announced last year and is now being aired on Geo Entertainment. Jurm is directed by the ace director Mehreen Jabbar – she last directed the web series Ek Jhooti Love Story for the Indian streaming platform Zee5, hence this will be her return to Pakistani TV.
It stars Wahaj Ali, Durefishan Saleem who was last seen in the drama Kaisi Teri Khudgarzi, Tooba Siddiqui and Atiqa Odho in prominent roles. The plot revolves around a newly married couple who feel like they are just so much in love that they’d even cross the universe for each other.
However, very shortly after, their fairy tale is disturbed after Wahaj is beaten up by goons and his wife is kidnapped.
Although looking at his condition it doesn’t seem like he is involved in the act, there are some suspicions hinting that he may be involved in his wife’s kidnapping after all.

While episode 1 is a little slow, the plot has a number of twists and turns that will keep the audience hooked. After the airing of the first episode of Jurm, the audiences also seem to be highly impressed with the storyline as well as the characters.

Verdict: 4/5 Stars
While it is still a little early to judge Jurm at this point, we are liking what se are seeing. If the story line picks up the speed and we see more twists and turns, this drama can turn into a delight for viewers. With lots of potential from the cast, a nice and steady storyline, and interesting concept, drama serial Jurm may become another hit for Wahaj Ali.
