Pakistani host Anoushey Ashraf has called out a coworker on Twitter for violating her personal space on Twitter.
The popular host wrote on the micro-blogging site, “Just because we worked well on a project together doesn’t mean I’m now ‘babe’ and you can hold me by the waist to take selfies at events. We’re colleagues, NOT friends. Know the difference. Understand the concept of personal space. #rant”
Your colleagues are not necessarily your friends. There is a line that shouldn’t be crossed to maintain professionalism and not violate someone else’s personal space.

Following Anoushey Ashraf’s tweet, Twitter users poured out their support for the star on the social media platform. They acknowledged that no matter who you are or what your field of work may be, women encounter uncomfortable problems/situations such as this at their workplace.
A user told tweeted in response to her tweet, ‘Hope you told him off,” to which Ashraf responded that her purpose was to put it out there for people to understand the difference in the future. “It was a massive event, and I didn’t want to create a ruckus.”

In Pakistan, there have been several cases of misconduct and sexual harassment at the workplace by women. So Anoushey’s tweet instead gave voice to the women present on the platform itself.
Pakistani actress Ushna Shah also noted Ashraf’s complaint online without naming the culprit, to which she responded, “I have a feeling I know exactly who triggered this rant.”

Some users also urged Ashraf and Shah to name and shame the person, so they never violate another woman’s privacy like this in public ever again.
On the other side, a man also commented, “If you have a problem with this, then don’t work. If you want to live in a liberal society, then it will have side effects, tolerate them.”
To which Ashraf snapped back and told her that clearly, he had no idea what personal space is.
