It is officially desi wedding season. What is this season without a little drama? In a viral clip, a groom was beaten up at his own wedding.
Reportedly, the tragic event occurred after the groom’s father demanded Rs. 23 lacs (10 lacs INR) right before the nikkah ceremony. He didn’t just demand the hefty amount but also threatened to call off the wedding if the demand was not met.
Upon finding out what was delaying the nikkah ceremony, the relatives dragged the groom inside the hall. They manhandled him until his relative (a woman) stood close to her, also seen in the clip, to protect her from getting beaten up further.
The staff of the banquet hall and other guests were seen standing and watching the drama taking place instead of stopping the men from beating the groom. Some also recorded it happening on their phones.

As per reports, the groom’s family was already handed 3 lacs INR in cash and a diamond ring worth 1 lac INR. Regardless, more demands were made right before the Nikkah ceremony.
Before beating the groom, the bride’s family and relatives tried to convince the groom’s family. However, much to their dismay, they didn’t budge. The bride’s relatives and family claimed that the groom was married 2-3 times before.
In the end, people resorted to violence after being angry. While a woman relative saved the groom, a policeman was also seen trying to control the situation in the clip.
Reports reveal that the incident happened between two Muslim families in Uttar Pradesh’s Ghaziabad on the 17th of December at a banquet hall in the Sahibabad area.
