Pakistani celebrities participarted in a NOWPDP’s Tuk Tuk march that took place in People’s Square in Karachi’s Saddar area. The purpose behind the initiative was to empower disable people and encourage them to fight for their rights for mobility and work. A group of differently abled people have been given customized rickshaws that they can drive to earn livelood.
Fashion designer, TV host, director and also an actor now, Hassan Sheheryar Yasin hosted the March as the goodwill ambassador of NOWPDP on Sunday. Celebrities including Bila Ashraf, Mahira Khan, Wasim Akram, Maya Ali, Feroze Khan, Ayesha Omer, and Sanam Saeed took to the streets of Karachi to welcome the new retrofitted fleet of rickshaws on the roads of this great metropolis.
HSY took it to his Instagram and wrote: “There was magic in the air and hope in all our hearts for a more inclusive Pakistan. I’m honored to be their Ambassador and beyond grateful that my amazing friends left everything at a single call and stood by us all.”
He added, “The love you radiated was felt by all, especially our persons with disabilities rickshaw drivers who from tomorrow onward have the means to earn a livelihood which is the right of every man and woman. Today was epic, and a start to many great things, and I could not have done it without you all! Thank you from the bottom of my heart. I’m forever in your debt.”
HSY has known for working with the organisation with the purpose of enabling people with disabilities. He has visited NOWPDP House multiple times to give motivational sessions and also visite promoted them continuously.
